Do you know what most of the auto critics are saying these days? The MAIN complaint?

Cars are getting LOUDER becuase they lack insulation. They even have a feature on the radio these days that tracks road noise and turns the radio up.

But back to the supra.

Yes, I build my car to be looked at. Yes I build it for attention. If I didn't I'd drive a fucking BOX STOCK HONDA.

ANYONE THAT BUILDS SOMETHING TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR WORK AND WANTS ADMIRATION. PERIOD.

I totally agree with this statement and I am not saying that "YOU" won't ever get your car looked at.

You will just have to work a LOT harder than most to overcome the little brother stigma.

OK my rant...

Jake I know what you're saying 440RWHP isn't all that much, but realize. My turbo/AEM setup had 1100ish miles on it, 5 of those were before my car drive from Tampa, Florida to Houston, Texas. My car was down for 4 months prior to the meet. So my car was no where near 100% what it is capable of, not to mention I dyno'd at 18psi. Pretty low boost compared to most cars that dyno'd.

Also if you want to complain and say none of the MKIIIs were anything special, please tell me your car was there if not don't speak. Mine was there and there were a few cars worth of magazine coverage. Mine may not have been due to some paint issues from an accident I was involved in. Basically if you were not there, do not bitch. I drove 1100+ miles to be there spent every night the week before the meet at the shop until 3am, just to get up and go to class the next morning at 8. So I can say things like this, the night before my car had no suspension and a friends car had no tranny in it.

I built my car for me and only me. I built it so that when I wake up walk outside and see my Old inferior MK3 "Supra" it makes me think "God Damn my car is hot." My car will put a smile on my face every time I look at it or drive it. Its for me and no one else. If someone doesn't like it, thats their opinion. But when people walk up to me and say "Nice Car/ Clean car/ That things fast/ or I want your car" Thats a + in my book. I don't go out looking for it, I earn it. Works just like respect, it's not free.

And for the record, there were quite a few MKIIIs in Texas that would hand a BPU MKIV its ass.

First of all, Im sorry my point completely flew over your head... I really think I have every right to say whatever I want, cant I? For example, I can say that I never said I was coming, or could come... I said I WANTED to come, but couldnt... But just because I wasnt there doesnt mean I cant comemntate on it or give MY opinions on it... Also, I didnt say what I said as an insult to you, so knock it off... You know wtf I was saying, and if you cant grasp that, Im sorry... Ive been around this community for a long time, I hear the same shit every year, and no one ever steps up... The fact that you stepped up, look back at the threads from the past, I gave and give you props bro... I wasnt dissing the fact that you ONLY made 440hp, so you dont need to hand out excuses for why you ONLY made 440... I was pushing the point that there are and were a lot of Supras there that put more power down than you and they didnt do it...

Blah, fuck it...

I see what Jake is saying and all but, Point is Denny did what alot of mk3 owners dont. He took a car in 8 months and made it a pretty quick respectable car on a stock motor. There were no 7m powered cars there other than mine that can make more power than his, and mine didnt because it had a bhg. And it's not like he went into it trying to win a trophie he went into wanting to see how much power his car makes, He just so happened to be able to win it and did, What does it matter that he only makes 440? He stepped up! He represented! So if anyone feels like he didnt do well enough and he didnt represent then they should go out themselves and do it. Wheter or not he made 1000hp doesnt matter he still rep'd the 7m.

So honestly I think anyone who doesnt have a car making more power than his, or doesnt have a car to take to tx, or doesnt have a running car, shouldnt really say anything.

I probably still could've dyned 500hp if I really wanted too, but I thought people would be more impressed by a stock 145k 7m motor putting down 440 without even trying.

I would love to see a bunch of high horse MKIII dyno at a meet and turn heads, but that wont happen untill alot more people start throwing down alot more power, myself included.

Thats your point... That wasnt MY point...

And, like I said, and have said, I give Denny props... Im not taking anything from Denny on what he did... From one MKIII owner to another, Im proud of him and his accomplishments, and wouldnt belittle his attempts what so ever...

My point, for the last time is this: every year, well, for the past 4 years that Ive followed the Texas meets is that you get a laundry list of guys promising to show up and put it down, and it never happens... One year it WILL happen, one year you will get a hand full of guys show up and really show what these cars and thier motors are capable of, but it just hasnt happened yet... I can talk all the shit I want because I have yet to brag my shit and tell people that Im coming with monster numbers... As for now, Im simply an MKIII cheer leader who is cheering to a silent crowd... When my car IS done, and when work and life and the stars and moon line up and I can actually make the meet, I will bring it, and I will slam it and will prove what me and this car and this community are capable of... For now, all I can do is hope that my words will motivate you people into following suit...

But in the mean time, please dont take what I say and my rant and turn it into some sort of slam on the members here, or Denny or this car... Ive been nothing but supportive of this car and this community from the first day I showed up, and always will be...

Denny, Im TRULY proud of you bro... Vic, I know you came on a hard time with the BHG, we all know it well, but I too am still very proud of what you have done and what you plan to do with your car... Keep it up, Im behind you all the way... There is NO desent from me, only support, so take my shit talking and use it to drive you to the next level... And know this, anything anytime anywhere that I can help you guys, I will, I always have, Im always willing, just not always able, but I'll continue to try... Right now, trust me, Im PRAYING I'll see you guys in November and we can all put on a good show... And next year at Texas, we'll be there 100%, making our voices and our cars heard...

i get exactly what you saying man ^ probably just worded it wrong.

The problem isnt with the MKIII, its with the owners. The majority of the MKIV's that go to these events tend to have deeper pockets than those MKIII owners that show up. There simply arent enough owners with the willingness to go all out on these engines. The owners that do push the MKIII's and their engines are a select devoted few. The rest of us, like myself dont, or simply CANT put in the amount of resources the MKIV owners can.

Give Ryan Woon a MKIII and see what happens, it aint the cars, or the engines, its the owner and how far he is willing to take it. We just arent as comitted or capable as the MKIV guys. Srry,

Guys like Nate, Duane, Ron (well maybe not anymore but still), and others are the few stepping up to the plate in the 7m world.

i don't get it ^

as for mkiii's. a supra is a supra, no matter what. my car is finally starting to go fast and i love it more and more. it has great styling, and i don't think anybody can deny that. its built solidly and can withstand a beating. there aren't too many guys out there that beat their mkiv's the way i beat mine. not saying i purposefully try to break stuff, but i drive my car.... i drive it like it should be driven. i was talking to an evo guy just yesterday, and hes been in my car, but he hasn't seen my new set-up yet, and i was saying how i really liked my new exhaust, and "not to brag or anything, but its one of the most badass sounding cars ive ever heard!" he replied, of course it it, ITS A SUPRA! everybody gives supras respect. no, the supra painted 3 different colors with 2 different types of wheels won't get respect, but a tuner supra gets respect.

Crisps FTMFW!!1!

I still can't understand why so many of you guys are STILL want to go to a meet and show the "others" what the MKIII scene can do... Come on... We all know what this scene can do. We are the ones that are important.

And what's with this shit about "Showing them what the 7M can do?" WTF? It doesn't matter if it's powered by a 7M, 1JZ, 1G or 350 Chevy crate motor - A nice supra, is a nice supra...
