Occasional ticking/knocking Sound at Idle

Yes I know the title, what I didn't know is that the knocking sound that I heard at idle was the same sound I heard a 2000 to 3000 rpms, Thank you for your idea though.

Its a manual transmission.

That sounds EXACTLY like every single other "rod knock" video that has ever been posted on SM.

If it sounds exactly like every other rod knock video, then wouldn't that make it a rod knock video too?

I say rod knock. Especially considering how it's most noticeable between 2 and 3k RPM.

My condolences.

Thanks, I didn't want to go posting a thread without getting opinions of people who have had or have seen a similar problem, I wanted to make sure it was, what it was. I didnt think to check youtube for other videos on rodknock because I wasnt aware there was any, but I will sure use it in the future.

As for the exhaust leak, it has a after market exhaust system and the previous owner didn't put any gaskets in, and I haven't had a chance to jack the car up enough to get to it yet.
