I now have the newest remote starter/alarms from Clifford in stock. I took a quick video to show how cool the new "ghost led" remotes look. The video quality is crappy but you can get the idea of how the LED's are hidden in the bezel of the remote and how bright they are.

Having trouble loading up the vid right now but here are a few pics.

Last year I did a group buy on plug and play remote starts with cool down timers That went pretty well. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40749
At that time I didn't have much faith in the quality of units that were made for manuals but now that Directed has started building these I'm willing to give it a whirl.

What I'm thinking about doing is a group buy on the Clifford matrix 3.3. Its the newest unit from Directed.
It is an Alarm/RemoteStart/Keyless. It has a 2000' range and 2-way remote. More details can be seen at WWW.directed.com. There's a banner there show the new LE series which includes the 3.3.

I figure these will go for $450 shipped, maybe less if I can get 6 or more in the buy.
BIG UPDATE !!! I can get a break on the price. Instead of $450, if I can get 6 buyers at once I can do $425 shipped. If we can get 12 people on board then I can blow these out the door for $399 shipped.
I'd like to get a feel for how many people might be interested. so please check out the old GB thread and directed site to gett an idea of what i'm doing and post up if interested.

Thanks Tony.

I was actually looking at your old GB threads and alarms last night. I was thinking about contacting you this spring as I'm interested in the 50.5x but not sure when I'll get my car back on the road.

Agreed, Parking brake and Neutral, and a bypassed clutch start switch. It's just a habit to get into, and don't let anyone else touch the car.

Yeah well remote starting a stick is no magic trick. I just have to worry about the ass hat that leaves it in gear. And we gots lots of those around here. I will be requiring a signed waiver of liability and a photocopy of proof of age for these.

Yea I can see the liability concerns on your part, you should require a competency test for purchase lol.

When do you think you'll be doing a GB for the alarms/remote start/keyless entry?

Experiance of dealing with customers who are below average in common sense... yup, plenty of it.

Werd, I've had it on my MK3 for... 3 years? Somewhere 'round there. NEVER had an issue (5spd obviously)

Now, I can count...

- wrx
- civic
- s10 mini truck (fucking hilarious)
damnit, I know there's two others but I can't think of them.

They all wound up left in gear and remote started. The WRX drove itself up onto someone's porch,

the s10 high centered itself on a curb (fucking hilarious. tons of people running around yelling and i was standing in the bay, eating pizza, laughing my ass off)

the civic just drove down the road.

jist of it all.... be fuckin carefull ;)

I've watched a Talon start up, and immediatly pop out of gear, and keep idling. But that first bump was enough to get it rolling around 1-2mph and 30 seconds later come to rest on a Chevy 1500's bumper across the parking lot. About 5 of us just sat there watching it happen like a shopping cart in the wind.

I was the victim and the culprit of the "remote start your car with it in gear" prank. First of all it wasn't a supra , secondly it was 12 years ago, and third, it was an accident. Well luckily there was a wall to stop it. :eek:wned:
If no one was there to witness it then it never really happened. Right? Like a bear taking a shit! :icon_roll

Speaking of leaving it in gear. I have a friend that has a remote start on his car and just last week, left it in gear. What happened? We were in garage working on Supra and heard a noise. His car tried to start (he leaned on remote by mistake) and drove against my fence and then hit garbage bin and then went across the lane way and crashed into a concrete barrier!

Could have been worse....could have pinned him to the wall and put him in a chair for life.

As far as the the deal goes why on earth would anyone pay $450 for something that can be bought for $70 with a one way remote and $119 with a two way? For example the Crimestopper CS-2016. Long range, remote start, keyless entry, full alarm, AUX outputs, etc. Easy install and works flawlessly.

Did you even look at the other thread? If someone wants to buy crimestopper in a box I can sell them that too.

Please don't clutter this thread with these types of posts.

You will not find what I'm selling anywhere else at a better price.

so my question is, are you selling the same models as your previous group buy, yet it is still the newest unit from Directed?
have they not made anything new yet?
