Not starting with fuel cell

So our GRM $2007 project continues. The car wouldnt not start before due to fuel pump not running. Now i have a fuel cell along with an inline walboro 255 and the system will not turn over and there is spark. So heres my question. With the pump just running via the diagnostic connector could i have flooded the engine? Do the injectors run with the pump is just running? Im pretty sure the fuel system is working ok because there is return fuel. The car has probably not been started in years so it could be anything but is there anything that generally gets messed up?

You have a Walbro 255lph "IN TANK" pump out of the tank, running inline?
If so, you killed it.
They are cooled via the gasoline, otherwise it will overheat.

Fuel cell installed pics? I will be doing one soonish and would like to see how you guys did it.

Its an inline pump specifically for fuel cells. I will snap some pics for you tomorrow even though its not really all mounted up (i dont live where the car is at). (btw is there spell check on these forums because i am terrible at spelling)

If so, what is your base pressure set to? What is the pump putting out for pressure pre-regulator?

I read that if you use a walboro 255 that you didnt need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, you would just run rich. Remember, its not starting it at all its just cranking.

Any other ideas guys? I felt like it was really close to running but now im just a little disapointed.

you need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator with any other fuel pump than stock OEM.

So what are we saying, there is to much fuel pressure and thats the reason its not starting?

there IS such a thing as too rich especially during starting. That might not be your problem but who knows. Have you checked the spark plugs to see how they look after you attempt to start the car? Reak of fuel? Blacker than black? etc...

in a case like this, i'd check the compression to see if the cams are opening the valves properly and the rings aren't severely worn.
spark + fuel + compression = running...well sort of...

You say the car hasnt been started in years i would bet with all the fuel being dumped you washed the ringlands and now theres no compression.But thats just my assumption or timing is off,cps is off,injectors sticking not opening etc.
