Oh damn. Sorry, I foolishly assumed that people still run 7m's like me. Someday when I grow up, I'll cross to the J-series engine.

Just wondering if you guys are still wanting to go through with this. I'm replacing the rod bearings, center driveshaft carrier bearing, power steering rack, and hopefully fixing the cruise control to get this ready to go the 1,000+ miles that this trip will be. If not I'll still be going, just in the 4runner or Tundra.

sadly Matt is correct. I'm suspecting either valve guides or piston ring. One cyl was 10 lower than the rest. Burning up oil though. I think the motor has to come out ASAP, I don't want to cause more damage than already done.
