Okay so i fixed my air leak two days ago and replaced a brake light bulb. ive been driving the car everything was fine except i had a engine light for my knock sensor. so today i go out and replaced my bad knock sensor and fire her up and no more engine light yay! then i drive down the block and pick up a friend and as soon as i stop at his house my dashlight comes on. the light that shows theres something wrong with my tailights brakelights or turn signals. I get out the car and check. my brake lights are completely out... wont come on at all. checked the fuse and its not blown. Idk what else it could be. maybe brake light switch? it just happend all of a sudden

Thanks. Its either the brake light switch or the brake light failure sensor. Im thinkin its the switch since my brake light warning light came on in the dash so that means the sensor is still working

Not a 7M-GTE Tech question - moved to General. You sure you didn't blow the bulb? Just because it's new does not mean it didn't blow.

I think you missed part of what he said. It's not one bulb that went out. It's ALL of the brake lights, on both sides, and the 3rd brake light. Chance of all popping at once are slim

Fixed it today in 5 minutes. it was the brake light switch. the one thats at the top of the brake pedal. Thanks for all of the help though and for that wiring diagram. So all thats left for me to fix on the car is my door locks which stay unlocked for some reason and my A/C. Yay!

It's easy enough to pop the box open and check for bad solder joints. Most of the time a couple of the joints crack from age/vibration where the plug solders into the pcb.

If you have any soldering ability whatsoever it's a 5 minute fix (and that's waiting 4 minutes for the gun to heat up).

I checked the failure box. the circuit board in it seemed to be in good condition. i cleaned it up and moved some of the little circuits on it that were slightly bent. put it back on and im still getting the dash light and my brake lights wont come on. Im take the brake switch back off and get another one since its a lifetime warranty on it even though idk why it would have gone bad after 3 days of use.... maybe i just didnt adjust it right. but that doesnt explain why it would work for a couple days then stop working again randomly like it did the first time.

hahahahahahahahaha. Sorry the first thing i thought of when i was posting this Nooooo. But i fixed my brake lights! Idk if i said this in my first post but when i first got the car a couple weeks ago the dash light for the tailights was on. I checked the lights and they were all coming on but the one on the right side towards the center was flickering and going out. i changed the bulb out with a bulb i got from the junkyard. when i did this my dash light went out and all my brake lights came on and i was like yeah im a genius muahahaha! but i just went and rechecked that bulb that i changed last week and damn if i didnt put a bulb in with the wrong wattage haha. i changed it with another one i got from the junkyard and now they all work!!!!! Hell to the muthasuckin yes

Welcome to your first of MANY time consuming and wallet draining problems with owning an MK3 Supra. I see that you got it straightened out. Congrats. I hope any future issues ( if any ) work out as easy. I know most of ours on here haven't.

Yep so they went out again last night. I dont know why they come on for a couple days then go out again. i thought it was the switch, then the box, then the bulb, and now i dont know.
