What is the difference between a non turbo and turbo engine head?
I need a new top head and a guys is willing to sell a jdm n/a turbo head for me. I have a 89 turbo and was wondering if the head would be ok for my turbo engine. Thanks

yes he said he is selling an 89 na supra head...

This is what he wrote me.....and links for some pictures too

This head came off my 89 na supra before I put a turbo engine in it. It was running fine with no problems up to when I took it out. It is a JDM head, so I don't know how much miles is actually on the engine, but the car has 190k miles on it. I'm sure the engine has a lot less. Here are a few pics, let me know if you need more.

If these were his exact words: a jdm n/a turbo head, then I'd stay the fuck away from him cause chances are he doesn't know what he's talking about.

so to get this back on track, i have a question......

if i were to buy a 89 n/a head and put it on my 89 turbo engine while keeping the turbo componets line cps and what not, would i have to have things milles (port and polish) or would it be ok just bolting it up and running it?

From what I understand the heads are exactly the same. One of the cams is different, forgot which one, but some consider it to be an upgrade. So it will bolt right up with no problems.

The intake cams have different part numbers. And the GE cam profile changed in 89. Although I do not know what all is different.

absolutely no differences between NA and turbo heads- a 7M head is a 7M head. there are different castings of the head:

For all intensive purposes the same though. :) The supposed n/a cams power increase, which still hasn't been proven. :D

yup again. it's not really worth the bother....
