OK well it that time of the year for my 89 supra. SMOG time in california.

so what you way? well the shell is an N/A and i swap a turbo motor in it. solution... de-turboing. that or swap an n/a motor again.

anyways what do i need to do to do this? i have all stuff my the n/a but how will i connect the afm? AND what hoses will i need to plug?

I only need to run it like this for a day to smog and then back to turbo again.

any helps on what i need to take out would b great.

and will the turbo intake manifold work fine?

NOTE AGAIN this is NOT for performance i just need it to pass VISUAL. my guy can do the rest :naughty:

Couldnt you just go buy a NA header and bolt up the exhaust and then get the intake setup just like a NA, and then plug up all the oil/coolant lines for turbo and run that?

If "he can do the rest" why cant he let you pass visual?

Indeed. In fact the visual is the easiest part to cheat on. Other than using an entirely different car or a can of calibration gas there isn't a way to tamper the tailpipe test. And just think, come July 2008 you'll have to get tested every year instead of every two...

EVERYTHING on the car is turbo. its a FULL turbo swap. not just na-t.

and to relate i doesnt do it when its super obious.

(i took to him my 90 with Excessive mods and she say..."you mod to much i can do this"(it has bigger turbo/vpc/550 FFIM the whole deal.)

and ill cost me 350 to smog that. (from someone else) so i was hoping i can just turn it into an n/a since my 89 is just BPU. he passes old cars(stock) that you cant pass normally but he wont do excess mods or visual mods since its to hot.

and about the test every year is that true? any links?

and actually just recently i started looking into the old school 1970-74 240z as my project car. and im really leaning on doing that project intead of a supra. the 240z is smog exempt and has a HUGE engine bay so i can fit my built motor or an ls1. only wieght around 2000. If what you say is true then i gues 240z it is for me next summer.

Requires all vehicles 15 or more years old to have an annual emissions test effective July 2008. Passed a few weeks ago. That said it was killed (for this year) just a few days ago. I missed the update until I was checking for you. Sorry for the scare but keep in mind they're going to try again in 2008. It's yer gum'mint at work...

just do what i did and pay the guy off. PA inspections aren't a walk in the park either.

Im preaty sure PA smog laws are easier than californias.

and as i said ill cost me about 350. to do that, thats why im looking to see if it possible since i have almost all n/a parts

Why would any car person wanna live in CA, and how the hell do they know it's an NA they run your vin, find a wrecked Turbo and swap vins then reregister it, or something. I WILL NEVER MOVE TO CALIFORNIA a.k.a. shittiest state on earth in form of DMV and government, pretty countryside and fun stuff to do but the DMV there may as well open up death camps and start yelling hiel.
