non turbo to turbo swap

so i bought a 1992 non turbo automatic car that has been swapped with a 7mgte motor and an r 154 trans the guy has it wired up some how using the na wiring harness and the na computer and the car runs fine somehow! which i find unbelievable but thats besides the point id like to swap the na harness and na computer out for the right wiring harness and ecu! the motor and tranny is out of a 91 supra and the car is a 92! what wiring harness would i have to get??

You need a 92 wiring harness, All the motors are the same except newer castings and turbo motors having turbo drain and feed and oil squirters drilled and tapped.. All heads are the same just the intake cam is different.

i have an ecu and wiring harness out of an 88 turbo would that work or is it just the 92 wiring harness and ecu that will work?

89+ have a better tuned ecu.

You need the 92. It has the wiring for the airbag and all that. Its also a shit load easier to just buy the right harness and plug it in rather than trying to sort out wiring and plugs to make it work.

Yellow pluged Ecus (87-88) Grey Plug (89 <- gets its own year), (91-92) i think a 91 harness would work as well

91 would work. The ecu doesnt matter so long as its gray plug.

Its just the harness and it really is better to just match up the year and options. Like abs and if your using auto you need a auto harness and ecu but hes r154 so it doesnt matter.

Of course 87-88 are the same so that doesnt matter.

yes sir i hear ya there id rather just buy the right shit and be done with it!!! thanks for the info men! any info on where i can find the wiring harness?

well the guy i bought the car off of said that he had the harness that came with the motor on the car and it was a grey plug and it matched up to the ecu but not the other plugs for the dash etc

There is 2(that i know of) different plugs for gray plug so it could have been a 89 or 90 and he thought it was a 91.
