no start problem

when i tried to start my car last night it turned over but wouldn't start unless i pumped the gas. when i let go it just bogged out and died. i looked under my car and saw a lot of oil leaking out of the oil filter. do you think its my timing?

also i just replaced my bhg. i found a wire from my harness that's one pronged and has a rubber circular cap, i'm having trouble finding where it goes. anyone have any ideas? its on the exhaust manifold side on a 86.5 turbo.

I'd pull the codes first, and the wire sounds like the oil pressure sender. Is the oil pressure gauge working? gl.

^thanks. I'm thinking that last part of the harness caused it to put out oil? Cause that plug is an oil pressure sensor

and you dont have an 86.5... your car has to be an 87 if your turbo. or your swapped... just FYI.

and if your oil filter is leaking you need to tighten it. DUH. theres no wires that will cause your car to 'leak' like yours did. you probably have something not right somewhere. did you replace the cam seals when you took the head off?

Yes i did replace the cam seals. Well i checked my filter and it's on there pretty tight. I'm going to replace it. I'm thinking it might of been that the rubber seal came off the filter when i installed it..

or the last filter left its rubber seal on it and then you put the new one on and it doubled up... just make sure you put oil on the seal and that wont happen.


and no codes came up with the diagnostic check?

i haven't done diagnostics for it yet. i fixed oil leaks. but i think it might be my fuel pump. any opinions? i checked my timing and its dead on at tdc. i have plenty of gas.

does anyone know how to check the fuel pressure?

Does our ecus have obd0 and what not like hondas? If so which one is it? I was at schucks and saw 3 different ones i believe Obd0 obd1 and 2?

So i'm throwing a code 22 which is a water temp sensor signal. Not sure how to diagnos. Anyone with pictures or a very descriptive way to help figure it out?

You sure that was the only code? You def. need to read the tsrm ALOT more indepth. The thermostat has nothing to do with the car not starting.
