no spark still!!!!

i have a 88 7mge 5 speed and i just rebuilt the motor. the car had been sitting for 4 years, i bought it 2 years ago and it had a spun bearing go figure :3d_frown:. so now the motor is back in and now it has no spark. it has a new coil and a new distributor, i hope its not the ignitor. i've checked all the grounds a few times and they're all connected right. i don't know why but the fuel relay is still buzzing and the lights in side the door are on when i connect the battery. so im stuck in a hole lol.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you connect the ECU ground wires to the starter? They are suppose to be connected to the 2nd intake up underneath, has 3 wires and gets connected with a bolt into a hole that looks like it has no purpose

I'd wager its a ground fault.

ya sounds like the ground under the manifold is not ground(done that).

yep it was. my step grandpa helped me build the motor and has been putting the wiring harness on and put the ground on the starter :aigo:. i asked him a few weeks ago if he did put the ground on the starter or not and said no all the grounds are in the right spots lol :3d_frown:.

so i have spark and fuel just need to get the timing right tomorrow.
