WOW I have a spare tire, and my wood in my car is thin, maybe someone before you made a plywood piece, then you made a support, soon someone will make a plywood or even better particle board Targa kit, that'd be sick.

Add some thompson's water sealer to keep those pesky leaks out.

Aha. That explains why the 50 pounds of dog food I usually have back there doesn't cause a problem. I need to look when I get back. My spare is probably flat by now. Car doesn't get driven long distance so I tend to ignore it. Other than on two occasions in 20 years the car has never been more than 60 miles from home.

I don't have a spare so no worries there :) IIRC, the wood has supports already but I can't confirm it since I don't have any of that stuff anymore.

Yes there are two metal supports passenger side but withought the tire any weight in the back on the wood is heavily reliant on the driver side hinge, which if you've ever looked at them they are very thin and flex easily. The hinges are not made to support much weight at all, simply enough support to raise and lower the wood and then some. W/o the spare, the trunk space is pretty much useless on any part left of the passenger side supports unless the object is rather light in weight, so to fix that i made this support.

just thought of some thing that is kinda funny and i bet toyota knew they choudl sell more wood form it too

once you change the tire were do you put the flat tire in the hatch now what happens you break the wood cause most poeple will just chuck it in
