As ChadMKIII pointed out, its east Oakland. Fuck that place is terrifying. It is the wrong place to be white.

I like most of Oakland, a lot if it is really nice. Some of it is not so nice. Some parts, don't even seem to qualify as civilized living.

Lawl. Quote of the day right here.

And yeah, WAAAAAAY wrong place to be white. My dad made a wrong turn one day off a freeway while trying to find an ATM, into the HEART of industrial area east Oakland. In our nice shiny minivan with the TV on. Driving down a residential street. At 10 o'clock at night. It is the absolute most ghetto place I have EVER seen, way worse than the Tenderloin or some of the parts of NYC I've been to. Scared the hell out of all of us. Lets just say we had to pause the movie for a while and pretend none of us existed.

Seriously though, I've never actually seen such dilapidated buildings. The place was lit up courtesy of all the halo lights everywhere, but each house looked like it was about to fall over. Broken glass everywhere, a/c units falling out of windows, just amazing.

LOL, reminded me of beginning of Office Space when Zamir turns down the gangsta rap and locks his doors...

Can you successfully give birth 4 months too ealry?
Yes.

Wouldn't the child be SOL even at a hospital at that age?

Either way, sad.
No.

In case the baby in Oakland today wasn't enough, here's some more Bay Area deaths in the last couple days:
Also in Oakland: Church Shooting
In Hayward: 4-y/o Dies in Drive-By
In Union City: Another Shooting
Also 2 different drunk driving deaths last night, one in Hayward, don't remember where the other one was.

Not usually this much in this amount of time. Weird.

Yes, Tanya, its slim but possible.

One of my friends was about 3.5 - 4ish months premature, can't remember quite exactly. I believe the chance is higher than what you posted, but it IS low.

3.5 to 4 months premature is appearantly very close to a record. 23 weeks (5.5 months) was the previous record for surviving birth. I'm not really calling bullshit, but unless your friend was a record breaking baby, I think you may be mistaken. :)

The only known premature babies that have survived so young prior to her were all born at 23 weeks. The average pregnancy is between 37 weeks and 40 weeks long.

I'm thinking homocide investigations are a little much in this case. If she screamed for help and waited for an ambulance the baby seems to have had next to zero chance. If 23 weeks is an amazing accomplishment for a baby to survive in a hospital, seems like a baby on a sidewalk or even in an ambulance is not going to fair very well.

The woman most definately needs psychiatric care though.

Once again, still very sad.
