check for codes also at least you find something wrong with your car. check also all your vacuum hoses you might've routed something wrong in there.

I second this. make sure its plugged in. also make sure your TPS is plugged in... Then I would test the TPS.

+1 for timing... also, is it when your turbo spools up? If so check for boost leaks and/or disconnected hoses.

Check for codes, make sure the afm is working, then check for leaks in the intake.

did you take pictures of the engine bay before the HG job? if so, refer to them for vac line routing and such, if not then find a running MKIII and compare. check IC pipes, afm blah blah what they said.

im not far from sac. we can hook up my AFM and see maybe thats whats wrong. if not id say its timing.
