No oil pressure

Drove the car around and noticed I had no oil pressure. What causes this? The sender I am using is from my old engine so I hope it stilll works.

How can I fix it?

Make sure the car is full of oil. Dont run it for very long until you get this fixed or you know for a fact that the motor has good pressure. Try a different sender. If that doesnt work then I would just get an Autometer oil pressure gauge.

If he drove it around he would have already known if there really was zero oil pressure or not.

I recommend you skip Chinameter and go for something better if you choose to go that route.

Perhaps a dumb suggestion...did you check the connection at the sender?
The connector has a rubber cap (or should) that fits around the dome top of the sensor. The connector is inside the cap and is a bit of a pain to attach properly.

I did plug the sender in, but I wil double check it is exactly as you describe next time I'm near the car.

Going through the same thing. I hope its my sender and not my oil pump going bad. Then again my sender shouldnt be bad since the motor isnt that old.

My gauge quit working right after my first engine swap. I raised hell with the shop, made them put in a new sender...

Then when I put a new gauge in it ($42 from Toyota) it started working again. LOL. Oops. :icon_redf
