stupid gas prices forcing companys to create small little high mpg turds, I feel like theres gotta be atleast one sport model for each brand reguardless of mpg and what not . well its just a bummer that the supra will not live on : ( oh well .

the american market killed everything.. i swear i hate this shit yo.. i mean realistically tho.. toyotas stopped being toyotas back around 2002 .. once the sw20, and the JZA80 and a few others like the awd caldina were discontinued .. toyota headed down the gay american sports car route. going naturally aspirated and fwd in the celicas, going natural in MR2s and discontinuing the supra.. meh. i hate it.. but i will always love my mk3

This sucks. I was really hoping they would make this car and finally have a performance vehicle under the Toyota name. Concept cars hardly look like a production version, but I think if they smoothed the edges out and worked on the design some, it would be good to go. But I guess it doesn't matter now. This was supposed to be a hybrid version, but it still could not meet requirements? It couldn't be worse than a few models they have now.

Sucks... but it's not really their fault as it's the government killing it off with the MPG requirements.

Which is bullshit as if I want a car that gets 4 gallons to the mile, can afford it, and it doesn't overly pollute, they should have ZERO say, period.

Horray for new Prius :3d_frown:

Toyota decided some time ago, that they were not a sports car company. And *If* they sell a sports car again, it will be in the Lexus line.

And that was when oil was $40 a barrell.

that blows. (i could care less about the supra, as it wasnt going to be a real supra anyway. basically an NA computer on wheels)

but the FJ was a great vehicle, my dad has one, we wheel and tow the piss out of it, it has 100,000 miles on it (an 07) and we havent done one thing to it other than oil changes. they werent lying when they rated it the most maintenance free vehicle of the year

thats what im saying wasnt it hybrid?

The cost to make a hybrid vehicle of this sort wouldn't be justified by sales.

As far as Toyota and a "sports" car...Scion TC is their current answer:3d_frown:.

I have also read rumors of the return of the Celica (2011) in a RWD as a tribute to the original, and a GT-S version in AWD, both w/ a engine design by Toyota/Subaru combined. We'll have to wait and see.

Man, that would be very interesting. If they also chose to make it rear engine like the mr2, then it would be wicked! Either way, I would probably try to talk my spouse into letting me buy :naughty:

hmm let see

"boring" (to us) line up but yetToyota is poised to take the number 1 spot in car sales without a sports car?

Perhaps Toyota does in fact has 1 f"ing clue on how to run thier business.

/pointless thread filled with a river of crying.

And Budweiser sells more beer than anyone else #1...so fucking what? It's piss water.

As for this thread being pointless.this a site about Supras, and as such it's worth mentioning whether or not a new Supra will, or will not exist (don't think I need to explain that one to anyone). No tears here

either which way its up to us to carry out its name and its legacy, its up to the MKIII and MKIV to carry out the true supra name. And if and when they do release a new "supra" it will be up to us weather the car is deserving of carry the name.
