Well this was supposed to be an update to a post I made a while ago. All of my codes are now taken care of: No more O2 issues, no more TPS code, no more speed sensor codes... NOTHING! Won't lie, I was excited when I figured them all out.

Been driving it everyday for a few days now and I have grown used to the awesome heat soak these engines get into (but no big deal). Thing has been running great, just running ever so slightly rich at times due to the vented BOV, no where near as rich as it did before (O2 sensor signal wire was cut before).

Now last night, the real fun began..... temps looks fine stayed in the middle of the temp range on stock gauge. While backing up into my driveway I notice an odd smell, REAL odd. After backing in I notice that my entire yard is being filled with smoke right out of the back of my car, just billowing out the exhaust.

No overheating, no stumbling.... Safe to assume the seals blew in the turbo that was supposedly brand new?? Any way to check for sure? Guessing just pull the turbo off and see how many gallons of oil dumped in the exhaust? The smoke has an odd smell, I am running 5w30 full synthetic and a quart of Lucas oil treatment so it smells similar to antifreeze but not quite.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am 3 seconds away from throwing this car off a cliff.::supermario::

Couldn't really tell color of smoke at 10 o' clock at night. I assume its white but I have no clue. I don't think it could be a HG due to the temps still being decent and no major stumbling right?

Blowing a head gasket doesn't mean instantly high/abnormal temp readings- that's more of a gradual thing as the engine loses coolant (and even then the stock gauge might not indicate anything out of the ordinary).

When its light out, start the car and find out what color the smoke is- White means coolant, Blue means oil, Black means fuel. We can go from there.

Can't I just pull the turbo and check the intake and exhaust? Gotta pull it to do a HG anyhow. This thing is so rigged together it's scary, and I'm pretty sure it has the coolant lines were deleted off the stock CT26 :/

Mmm deleted coolant lines to help cool a small often overworked turbo. Just remember the turbo seals aren't 'seals' persay. They're http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labyrinth_seal if I remember correctly.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I mean, unless if there is a surefire way to check for a BHG. The issue I have is supposedly it was done before and getting the proper HG before without knowing how much machining was done will be almost impossible without pulling the block right?

I would take a video but I don't think my neighbors would appreciate it much. Pretty sure seal is blown and throwing oil into the exhaust. Bets on how much I've lost??

Sounds like you've already convinced yourself what the problem is...never mind a little diagnostic work. Good luck...

Well I'm still at work, haha just thinking it over too much in my head I guess. Right when I get the thing running right it does this. I will diagnosis it tonight and this week. I do tend to jump to conclusions too much.

I'm just praying and hoping its not the HG.... that's the last thing I want to get into.

Add whatever has been deleted. Rigged up cars seem to cost you more imo. Unless you know what you got get it back to stock before you add power. Just my 2¢.

Well anyone know a good place to get a turbo without spending a ridiculous amount?? I doubt EBAY ones would last past a year, or am I wrong??

And I guess now would be a great time to do a softline kit since I was half tempted to just cut the old ones off the block after cutting my knuckle open haha

The reason I ask is because I see a bunch of random ones on Ebay, that have the Toyota stamping from CXRacing and such. And If I could pick one up for $300+ new instead of paying driftmotion 500+ for a new one..... You see where I'm getting at?
