I havnt seen this done anywhere so I thought I'd share.

Not sure what brought me to do this, but my girl has a 5th gen celica, I pulled off her mirrors and threw up my old 88 mirrors to see how they looked. With a small notch ground out for one of the screws, they fit almost perfect and looked damn good to me.

With the mirrors fitting that close I had to try her tweeter covers. Close enough!

The stock Celica tweeters fit too but the only set I ended up coming across with pins had the grills taken out and Kicker tweets so I stayed with that.
You just have to tuck the bottom tabs behind the door panel and push the pin into the original covers hole.

I still havnt been able to find a clean pair. They usually have the plastic pin broken off or the top tip broken off from people pulling on them.

There are 2 different tweeter covers from this gen celica that I've come across in the junk yards. I don't have any pics of the differences sorry. This one has an angle for the pillar to sit in when the door is closed, the other is alot more boxy and will not fit.
Now they are not 100% perfect, the bottom doesnt quite sit flush against the door panel but they are good enough for coming out of something else.

Thank you for reading, hope this will be useful.

Back in 1997, I just made my own tweeter pods in that location using the Supra parts, a Kicker titanium tweeter, some body filler, and stretch carpet that about perfectly matched the med. grey interior. (In retrospect, though, I'd have just done the extra sanding and painted them gloss black.)

I'm currently planning to do the same again with a set of MB Quart silk dome tweeters.
