I'm looking to buy an other supra but this time i want to do things right. I'm thinking of buying a nice stock supra but right when i buy it i wanna take it to a shop and get the headgasket replaced with the hks metal HG and torque it correctly. Now, my question is: what should be the proper sizing for the head gasket since it wouldn't be a blown one. also, since it does not need to be re-surfaced, what should i be paying for a job like this?

Id do the resurface anyway while its opened up and nows the time to do it correctly. Do it once, do it right. Head checked for straightness/cut and also the block too, smooth enough so your can put a MHG on it and all held together by arp head studs.

It's Not Important Bro
No way to positively know the size until it the head is desked and the block is machined. If your block is low miles perhaps it may only need to be cleanded up and no metal removed, therefore a 1.2mm I think.

If your mechanic wants to pre order the MHG, fire him.
