Alright so my car is pretty stock it has new cat and exhaust along with 3 inch driftmotion downpipe.Really no tuning devices or tuning in general done. The plugs and wires have been changed and timing has not been messed with since i checked it when fixing BHG. When I drive it has decent acceleration but once i hit a few PSI it completely bogs down. I can shift and get out of boost but it just bogs down again. And it just does that sometimes. Most other times its when im near 3500 rpms and in full boost it will bog down like it wants to go forward but cant. A few wierd noises and things happening with car.... when i shut car off i hear a short whale-like sound(thats all i can describe it as) coming from engine bay. It does not make that whining sound while running or boosting just when it shuts off . I also hear abnormal humming from around ISC when first started but that goes away after a few mins. Oh yeah ive replaced fuel pump, filter, and cleaned fuel lines out since it sat for awhile. So please ask me questions if it will help just need to figure this stuff out.

I would check the basics! Did your check engine light ever come on? Check for codes with the diagnostic connector shorted e1-te1, and re-check ignition timing, look for 10deg. BTDC with those same pins shorted. Also check fuel pressure see where you're at.

i don't have any codes and light never comes on..on fuel pressure am i just verifying i have good pressure by it squirting out into a bottle or something or actually measuring it?...

As for Fuel pressure, you need a pressure gauge hooked up to the fuel rail, so yes you're taking a measurement. In reality, you need to position the gauge so you can watch it as you duplicate the problem, to see if you drop pressure when moving into boost(it should actually go up 1psi fuel press. for each 1psi of boost) . These are all basic diagnostic steps, and are needed to build a baseline for advanced diagnostics. Be sure the double check that timing too.

When you say you don't have any codes, the CEL is blinking rapidly to show that you have no codes when you try to check them correct? I know when I tried to check my codes for the first time my CEL bulb was blown and I had to replace it.

how's your catalytic converter?

might be clogged, or you might have burned it out if you're running excessively rich...

Seriously- I know you mentioned a new cat, but it really does sound like a cat blockage. Happened to me, and I started bogging more and more when going into boost. Took it off and found it was like 80% blocked. Replaced it and bam! crazy boost right into FC. PS- my cat clogged up in less than 8 months from new.

I'm going to side with RazoE, the sulfur dioxide (rotten egg) smell usually points to a problem with the cat. Try unbolting it and running the car for a quick squirt up the street, just be sure to support your exhaust so it doesn't catch on the road.

thanks for the help guys...cat is new along with new muffler and downpipe... and when i drive until it "heats up" a little it will boost good and have power then a couple mins of driving no acceleration, no power ...so i checked today and fuel pressure is right in spec per TSRM. I was checking around and looking around and BAM split tan wire(on harness) under upper intake i traced it back and saw it went to the yellow plug that the gray O2 sensor plug snaps into.... so i unplugged o2 sensor and nothing happened drove it and no change plugged it back in no change...so i figure it may not be getting any signal...so new question if the O2 sensor is not working could it cause car to run super rich or lean if ECU is not getting any signal...another question is WHY am i not getting codes on super monitor if its not.....im going to take off upper intake and fix wire and ill let you guys know..just cant fix it till Thursday because of school... more problems but let me know what you guys think!..oh yes btw the o2 sensor is new from toyota....

yes the o2 needs to be hooked up or it will run rich!!

do as they say take off the cat and try that first
there should be one wire for the o2 sensor and it runs by the afm
if i remember right it is in the same harness as the oil pressure sending unit wire!

I have new cat and 3 inch downpipe and muffler which i put on within the last week BUT yeah sweet so i have a hopeful solution...i gotta take off the upper intake and reconnect that wire... so the o2 sensor will be getting some signal..and it looks like someone rigged the wire to the yellow plug so ill connect it correctly solder it and tape it up...my wiring harness is in not so great shape guy before me hacked it!...wiring has to be my least favorite thing

Assuming your engine is a turbo and not an na-t, the O2 sensor should be of the 3-wire type. IIRC, two of the wires are the heating element circuit, and the third is the signal wire.

And it does make sense that this could be your problem, as when a 7mgte is cold, the car is in open loop, meaning the ECU ignores the O2 input, since it is cold and would not be reading accurately.

another good sign that i found my problem lol...well lucky for me my wife let me buy the new exhaust stuff because i thought it was the catalytic converter...so i got a 3 inch downpipe and hi-flow cat out of the deal...so ill keep you guys updated as i fix the wire tomorrow..today got classes.. i keep pretty busy with homework from Calculus 2 and Eng Physics...yay for school

i fixed the wire to the o2 sensor...it ran good for about an hour then back to the same problem but it seems worse...will not go over 2000rpm whether driving or in neutral revving...hmm so i guess ill be checking tps, afm, timing again, and maybe wiring of other types...I got the supra blues lol
