No AC In The South???

I am planning to make power with my 91 down the road and I am sure a FFIM will be on the list of parts needed. I am unsure if someone could make me a short runner that could use a Q45 Throttle Body (or some other 80-90mm unit for that matter) without having some wacky angle to the intake or if a short runner will be needed. I have always liked that my 91 had working ac (however not that great) but I just cant decide if I want to gut out the ac components or not. How bad is it in the sout with no AC in a supra?

Thanks
BJ

lol its a bit warm here in the summer. Plus im worried about fog on the interior with no air flow if i have the windows up due to rain. Not really planning to drive the car through storms but sometimes its unavoidable.

Ive never had ac...ive lived in NC,FL,and TN and it never really bothered me! You get used to it pretty quick. Going without heat would be a different story LOL.

You hit it there man. I cant drive the car in the rain at all because of this. Ive been caught a couple times and it was down right stupid dangerous. Its no longer a daily driver so I dont care, but if you plan to keep it a DD, I would definately keep the A/C. Plus, down here in South Texas, its hot as hell without A/C. I drove it daily for about 2 years with no A/C and one window that I couldnt roll down. I then bought another DD.

im in lafayette. I just payed $150 to fix mine and it was worth every penny. When i would leave work it would take about a 1/2 hour to get home and by then my back would be wet with sweat. KEEP THE AC! IMO

I live in south Texas with no A/C and it's really not too unbearable. If it's raining, just put the CC on like you have A/C and you'll get air into the car. If you sit in traffic a lot, then that's a different story. I'm never in traffic jams.

I just worry that the long runner FFIM wont make my power goals (say 750hp)

:nono: runner length just moves where the power is basically...you can make 750 HP on the factory one..

With a targa and/or windows down, its tolerable at best, but if it rains it gets extremely humid/hot in the car. I'm definitely fixing the A/C among other things

yea no ac for me here in houston, but i dont drive in the rain cause it fogs up even when i use the cc. Being in traffic sucks, but when you're moving, you'll get some air. I'm gonna put the ac back soon though, cause my passengers usually arent used to not having ac..:biglaugh:

If its your daily, I'd keep the AC, Summer's can be real bad up here in WI with the humidity and heat, I don't want to imagine how much worse it is down south. But if its just gonna be a track/power slut, I probably wouldn't be too concerned with it, as I doubt you'd want to be driving a 750hp car in the rain.

Mine leaks so I haven't had A/C since I've had my car. I live in Bama and my leather seats are brutal in the summer. I'm planning on getting mine fixed somehow this summer though. If given the choice, I'd choose A/C over ffim..............:biglaugh:

bj, you know better than getting rid of the a/c. traffic in the br is bad enough on interstate with a beefy clutch. you should know that. by the way, driving george's car back from houston with no a/c was pretty crappy.
i'm so glad mine still blows cold. although i used up my last can of r12 a couple years ago

Keep AC I'm down here, you'll die. I also have a short runner ffim retaining ac in my build thread.

im in fl too he's right but ya pull it all out and run an vintage ac box under dash fits in place of old stuff and runs on 12v from your car lose weight gain power and still have ac it doesn't have to be made for are cars to use it in our cars
