Well I have an update.

I impulsivly bought a nitrous kit off ebay last night at 3 am in the morning sort of on accident. As I was getting of the computer chair to go to bed I get a msg from Suprastic and we start talking. Something about nitrous comes up and a spark hits my mind reminding me that I was watching some nitrous kits on ebay just for kicks. I end up checking My Ebay and there is a kit with 4 minutes left! I ask Suprastic what he thinks and he sais go for it. So here I am.

Its a Stage 1 fogger Import kit filled 3 times and comes with everything it originally comes with. Paid $280 for it. I think I got it for a steal of a deal. I couldn't pass it up. Unfortunately I still need a crap load of other things to get it running safely.

Purge Kit (Dual is on my list :D)
Bottle Warmer
Pressure Gauge
Window Switch

Any recommendations on anything else?

Thats EXACTLY!!!! what I want to do and Upgradedsupra said it couldn't be done :D

I CALL FOR MORE PICS!!!

Well I haven't had any carpet (OEM stuff) since 01 so couldn't remember...BUT

The bottle mounting seems to be laying flat which is not what you want. To get proper flow you need to have the bottle mounted on an angle..Is this on an angle?

so about that timing issue, lowering base timing to about 5 degrees would be good for anything up to a 100 shot safely?

Yes that woukd be fine and is what I took out for mine.
If you have in depth questions about nitrous, I highly suggest talking to the NOS tec line. This way you can have 100% accurate information and get the most out of your system. (I do that when I am not fully familar with something)

If you ot a slightly used stage one nozzle kit for that price, you did really well. New they are over 500.00
Duane is correct, the bottle must be mounted on an angle with the valve up. This is why a 10lb bottle will not hide in the spare tire well. For up to a 75 shot on premium gas, you should be fine doing nothing else but hooking the kit up. All the other items you want as add ons will help the kit be better, but are not absolutly needed.

I wasn't exactly aware of that. I figured they were pretty mandatory items, I was going to start with a 50 shot and work my way up. If I can spray a 75 shot with no problems then I will wait out on the other parts until I get serious, but all it comes with to control the nitrous is a WOT and an activation switch I think. It wouldnt be possible to use in 1st and maybe 2nd gear because of traction issues. Is the only way for me to remedy this to buy a window switch right?

Do I need to tune for the 50 and 75 shot or is retarding the timing enough?

The bottle is mounted at an angle, using the brackets that came with the kit. If you look at the pic closely there are little plastic spacers under the steel mounting plate for the wood cover. I also raised the little compartments on the sides the same amount so it's all level and still has support.

Well by the sounds of it, you need to modify the area and will not fit if it was pure stock.

Thanks for the response.. It doesn't look like it was at an angle.

A purge kit allows the nitrous to vent into the air, doig this will allow cold nitrous from the bottle to be through the lines waiting close to the motor. Not needed, but in drag racing it will save you 1 or 2 tenths. Kinda like letting a drinking fountain run before taking a sip.

A bottle warmer heats the bottle to keep the nitrous pressure consistant as the bottle empties, without one, you will lose some power as the bottle runs down.

A FJO mini controller would be a great add on to controll the nitrous instead of a window switch.

On premium gas, in a good state of tune, you should be fine running a 50 or 75 shot. To remedy the first and second gear issue, you could always just flip the arming switch on after second gear untill you can afford the window switch or nitrous controller.

No such thing as a n/a only kit. The kit does not know or care if you are turbo or n/a. All kits are basicly universal.
