nitrous on the 1jz

my buddy has a 89 CRX with one of the shitty ass engine swaps(stock internals supposedly) the hondas use. hes running a 75 shot of nitrous through it and talkin shit how fast it is. he was trying to tell me that my 1j cant handle nitrous cause it has turbo.

i was wondering what the perimeters for nitrous on the 1jz?

first off your buddy is a retard, secondly any motor can handle nitrous. I myself have never ran nitrous, the best thing it's used for on a turbo car is to help spool big turbo's quicker...

Bullshit. you can put nitrous to anything. it just depends on how much you put to it is what kind of reaction your gonna get. when I go to the track I usually run a 150 shot of nos on my supra

ROFL at Nalley. Nitrous is bad mmmk? I personally would never use NOX, it's a good way to break shit. Yes you can use it to help spool the turbo, but I wouldn't recommend it. The better way to spool the turbo faster is to decrease the size of the hotside on the turbo.

true true abe. Or you can just do what I did. Take a holset hx35w from a 6.7L dodge deisel. and adapt it to a shitty obx manifold. Little rear housing. Big compressor housing. Fast spool up:icon_bigg

What kind of power are you putting down with that turbo? What RPM are you at full boost and how much boost are you running?

I haven't had the car dynoed yet. I start boosting at 2200-2800 rpms. i haven'y gotten to full boost yet. but i have had it up 21psi. but it pulls like a muthafucka. quick

is it possible to do quad turbos. like 2 80mm turbos and use 2 t25 turbos to feed the 80mms and the t25s keeping the 80mms spooled mildly until you launch. idk i heard one of my co-workers talking about a 427 vett that had that kind of setup. is it BS or could it be possible. imagine 2 80mms with no turbo lag. wonder if you fully boost without blowing shit up. lol.

You build boost at 2500 ish, great. Nitrous to spool a turbo is fine but won't be needed for a small turbo. Heck, my old turbo set-up spooled np without bottle.

As for the Honda guy, this:

Why adapt. It bolts onto an XSpower manifold quite well.

I know it bolts up to the manifold. You just have to do a little bracket work for the actuator cause it needs to be on the opposite side. Other than that it works.

I'm running an external, so that is not a problem for me. The wastegate is welded shut.

As to the nitrous, run it, but be safe about it. There is nothing wrong with more horsepower. Boost + Nitrous just takes a bit of octaine. I would not do it on pump gas.

I never even thought about welding it shut. I can do that and put that 50mm wastegate to use. Right now its being used as a block off. And gas for the track. I go to the dirt track on saturdays. They sell 112 octane for $6.50gal.

The honda kid is a fag.

Nitrous is gay unless used to spool a turbo or for a spraybar IMHO.

He broke his axle from wheel hop from flooring from every light I bet ya...

He wrecked his CRX using Nitrous around like a 70 Degree and flew off the road and ran into the ditch. I heard from his passener that he didnt use the brakes until they were already in the turn. hahahahahahahahaha. the thing is slow as shit with out it. granted it goes a little bit faster because he put a 91 integra engine in it but thats about it
