Nitro Booster?

Anyone heard about this product? Designed to add into water/meth injection kits. Supposedly adds liquid nitromethane, offering more fuel and oxygen. Is this possible?

Nitromethane + Methanol = one of the few chemical reaction that is endothermic. It gets cold. REALLY cold! Tht might be where the power is gained. The amount of Nitromethane needed to really be useful is on the stupid side and that "little bottle" will not be remotely close.

NitroMethane stioc AFR is 1.5 lbs of air to 1 lb of NitroMethane! IE you will need at least 25% more nitromethan mixture which of course will require a HELL of a lot more flow than even one Single Weldon 2345 can supply.

Here are some numbers for you:

The site I got that from had an old saying that I heard back when I used to pit for winged sprint cars (methanol fueled)... It made me smile.

Gasoline is for washing parts, alcohol is for drinking, and nitro is for racing.

But that doesn't mean to go out and pour nitromethane in your car and see how it runs, if you do your engine will surely blow up.

Why?

Because you will run lean! Kind of like adding Methanol to Gasoline. Do nothing and you WILL run lean.

You are absolutely right in that you don't want to just pour this stuff in your tank, and I did not mean to lead anyone astray. I was hoping to show with numbers the basis for why nitro-methane is used.

I meant not to plagerize... hence my reference to getting that chart from a site. I'm intending only to further the discussion, not appear as if I'm coming up with anything out of the abyss of a photographic mind. My appologies if it came off that way.

I actually have that site bookmarked from some research into methanol/ethanol.

Nitro and gas does not mix, so you cannot just pour nitro into the fuel tank. The gas will float on top of the nitro. The greater the percentage of nitro, the leaner the mixture becomes, thus needing to ramp up the volume. The ratio's really get wild once you get abouve the 94% nitro ratio. Back about 8 years ago when I still ran a Carb on an old fuel bike, we would sometimes run 100% nitro. The jetting would have to be changed in the Carb for every 1% nitro change between 92% and 100%.

Back on topic - Do not run nitro of any sort in your streeet motor. The acid build up in the motor oil will kill your motor in short time.
