they are perfectly fine for a stock rebuild. and stock motors have gone to 600rwhp, time and time again. ive never seen a stock rod fail from HP reasons. i expect stock rods w/ ARP bolts and proper machining to handle 800rwhp just fine. ive used those pistons in 2 builds so far and plan to do a 3rd in the future. i havent heard any problems about the builds yet. I don't know what your intentions are MX1, but if you are looking for 500 hp upward keep in mind that on these pistons, it is critical that you keep a very good tune. From what I've heard. The stock rods can handle large amounts of horsepower, and usually the damage is done from over-revving.

I would just like to confirm something about these pistons. My friend is thinking about using these in his rebuild as they are pretty much the cheapest pistons out there that come in overbores. What were the horsepower numbers and general mods of the ppl running these pistons that you know? What piston rings would you recomend with these? The seller of these pistons on ebay also offers the rings to go with them but I'm not sure of the quality of those rings. Being as you've got first hand info on these pistons I'd figure I would go ahead and ask these questions. Thanks!

yes, they come in 0.020" and 0.040" over. they come with rings and wrist pins in the package. the first motor i built with these pistons now belongs to RTA supra. hes got an SP63 w/ supporting mods and a map ecu. hes making enough power to take down 600cc bikes on the freeway. he said his car runs great and hasnt had any problems with it at all. the other car was bucsfanatic59. the entire time he drove the car, he had zero complaints. the car was running fmic, hard pipes, safc and 60-1 CT. his car was mid 300's on the street before he decided to go a different route and do the 1jz.

like i said, these are only sold as stock replacment pistons, so dont expect much more than stock piston-performance out of them. on the same token, there ahve been some people who have put down 600rwhp on stock internals. i think will neely was one of the people who proved the durability of stock components. these arent forged pistons, so they arent as forgiving as them.
