I just ran across these on ebay and I had never seen them before. They are priced @ ~650 and are certainly bright and shiny. lol

I was wondering if anyone was currently running them and could provide their impressions. Also, any of the members on here with alot of knowledge about coil overs and what makes a quality setup, please weigh in with your thoughts on this product.

Like I said, I'm not even in the market for coilovers and I understand that 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for. I'd just like some opinions about what you guys think.

This is a link to where they are sold that isn't ebay.

And this is a link to the description of the coilovers on the same site.

when a suspension manufacture says a line like this

"These shocks feature a 4 way adjustible rebound rate to allow the driver to dial the vehicle into the way he likes to drive it."

you should immediatly realize that they dont know their product didnt design it and therefore is selling a cheap product

willas already hit the nail on the head he knows what hes talking about but ill explain this to you

#1 according to the state ment the shock has 4 way adjustable rebound rate..

firstly any single adjust shock changes both the rebound and bound in a fixed ratio determined from the valveing. so this statement cant be true because to adjust the rebound the bound is also adjusted in a single adjustable dampener...unless the shock is a double adjustable which it isnt. 4 way adjustable. let me give you a hint a 4 way adjustable dampener actually means you can adjust high and low speed bump and rebound seperatly of each other giving you four ways of adjustment. they meant to say 4 levels of adjustment. their description is absolutly incorrect. you get what you pay for period. willias is right you want a cheap suspension buy konis have the bodies C cliped and run ground control sleeves done and done

Were you able to determine who the manufacturer is? I see the poor information on that site I linked to but that is just description on a parts website. They are merely a dealer, not the manufacturer themselves. I have seen poor descriptions of parts I know are good quality. I've been looking for the manufacturer but can't find any info.

I have also read on an EVO board about some guy who actually bought these. From what they said the product was decent. I know this means nothing since I don't know what their basis was for this conclusion, but I know they aren't dead yet.;) lol

Thanks for the explanation of bound/rebound. Very informative.

for reference nex isnt a real company these coilovers as many others are rebadged from the standard cheap coilover manufacturer in asia. my main concern with these would be the spring rates as i bet they are to stiff for most people. but hey if you want to try them go for it i bet the dampener is insufficent

i searched through all ten coil over manufactures in taiwan/china that i know of and none of them make a 4 level adjustable dampener. this company must be rather small. im almost positive though that these are comeing from taiwan because it looks identical to previous models for those of you wanting to see these manufactures here are some site you might be suprised with whos brand name products you see cough sard

$300 more and you can go with a known proven name, that you can trust... and that has more adjust ability... TIEN SS. Why be the first to find out the hard way?

If you read my first post you will see that I won't be buying them.;) I am very happy with my H&R's for the time being. I just figured this would be an interesting discussion.

supraguru: Thanks for the info on the coilover manufacturers. Info like that may affect what products people on here consider/buy when they are shopping for suspension.

Also, when I do deceide to go and spend the money on coilovers, I think JIC's or TEIN's are in my future. But that's a long ways away.

I have the Megan Track Coilovers and I love them. They are 32 way adjustable. It isn't that bumpy of a ride at all on the softest setting. On the hardest setting, they will hug the road like no other. The ride is very bumpy as expected.

They were $950 shipped and they have the pillow ball mounts and very easy adjustment.

the megan coil overs are one of the topline taiwan coilovers just for reference (pillowball mounts standard etc) most taiwan coilovers are the same dampener ie 32 level adjustment but the options as far as ride height adjsut spring rate and mounts are what varies

not bad mouthing them because taiwan and china have good manufactures its really about the company contracting them that determines the quality and based on megans selection of ocmpentes they are decent coilovers. the thing ive noticed is keeping the china manufactures honest in contracts is what really affects quality.

edit disclaimer: i have no personal experience with megan coilovers only when i see the spec sheet see the coil over and look at the coilovers listed for wholesale form the main taiwan manufacture do i draw conclusions. there are several models of taiwan coilovers avaiable, if megan racing is indeed produced inside the states by all means correct me but i think my analysis putting them as a top line model from taiwan is correct this does not however say they are a topline coilover compared to japanesse european or american dempener and valvling. i still stand by only buying dampeners for racing where i can talk to a person on the phone about MY set of dampeners and their custom valving IE bilstein koni spax

And that's why I was kinda iffy about getting a Megan product for that much money. But, I said hell, why not? I've read a lot of great reviews and not one single bad one. And I'll tell you what, when I open the box and looked at the fine craftsmanship for the first time, I was amazed!!!

Don't get me wrong, there are still some cheap China products that I will not touch.

This is from the ebay ad - " Spring Rates (english): 1120lbs/psi (front) 1120lbs/psi (rear) "

Should be nice and comfortable then ;)
