All,
New guy here. I just recently bought a '88 Turbo 5-speed. Previous owner replaced the head gasket and head bolts with Toyota parts at the dealership. Runs well. I just installed a K&N FIPK. When I accelerate this kit made the turbo spool up sound louder. Is that normal? Thanks.

totally normal... you freed up more air for the turbo, plus less restriction for the air to travel through... thus you can hear your turbo.

Thank you SupraDreamPDR for the explanation. I was thinking exhaust should be the next step. Turbo Elbow, Downpipe, and Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust.

Would anyone happen to have the sound clip for a MKIII Blitz Nur Spec exhaust? Thanks in advance.

Don't have a sound clip but I do have that exhaust and would highly recommend it. I've really only heard it compared to the HKS Dragger though so my comparison isn't very extensive.

But I'll be getting one for my second Supra when I mod the exhaust, that's for sure!

That exhaust sounds loud and mean. I wish I had the power to back up the sound! Thanks.
you can make alot of power with just the stock block. alot of hp is added with plugs, plug wires, fuel type, lightened flywheel, intercooler and piping, bigger injectors, shimming the waste gate,Lexus afm, walbro fuel p[ump, and of course a nice down pipe depending on your local smog laws.
you've just started on a long road of add-ons! but of course the gains are well worth the expense.

ugh, start saving up for a MHG (metal head gasket)...don't mean to be negative, just realistic...

or an OEM hg like me (see sig) and use permatex brake quiet and ARP studs, but only if you don't plan on making BIG power
