Newbie with a question

Hi everyone. I've just installed the MAFT set up. Vehicle starts ok when cold
but is hard to start when warm. I did some research and see that Grim has the same problem if his climate control is left on when starting. Climate control doesn't seem to make a difference in my case, only whether the vehicle is hot or cold. I was just wondering if this was a normal side effect of the MAFT set up or if i've wired it wrong? Here are my settings:

AUX: 0
BASE: 2
IDLE: 0
MID: 0
WOT:0
MODE 1, 2, 3 & 4: OFF.
Also it doesn't make a difference if MODE 3 is on/off.

I'm assuming that it does not do this when you put your old AFM back in?

It doesn't happen when the old one is back in. I also noticed this morning that the car was hard to start (cold). After the EFI fuse is removed to clear ECU memory the car starts ok on first try. After the initial start, every other start is hard. I have to apply some throttle for vehicle to start.

Sounds like the cold start injector is still firing even when the engine is warm. Or at least that is all I can think of that might cause these symptoms.

Try pulling the sensor from the thermostat housing for the CSI and see if the problem still exists.

Thank's Grimm. I just went outside and unplugged the CSI connector and the vehicle now starts 90% better. If it doesn't start the first time it will start the second time without having to step on the gas pedal. I was also wondering if this could cause a rich condition? Before & after the maft was installed the car has always run super rich. The Vf readings are always at 0-.07 volts. I tried to lean out the fuel mixture with the maft but the readings don't change. Sorry for all the questions.

The CSI *might* be capable of causing a rich condition during startup and when it's still cold... but it's unlikely after that.

Thanks for the help Grimm. I'll do some checks on the vehicle and see if I can find out why it's running rich. I know this is off topic but I see that you blew your head gasket. I have some misc gaskets, washers and parts. You can have them if you need them. Let me know.

No worries from my end, I had a complete longblock as a spare. I'd be up and running again if I wasn't waiting a bit for a few parts and some machinework on the spare.
