Howdy. I feel like a real newbie asking this.

I do not wish to remove my targa top right now, as I want to plan a course of action before doing so. My garage is too full at the moment to park her inside.

The 2 bolts that you screw in the targa top to the rear side of the car are totally stripped from the previous owner. Would someone mind telling me if the bolts inside the targa top can be easily replaced, or if they're built into the top (in which case I'll just need to buy an entirely new top)?

Normally, I'd just pull it off and check myself, but I don't want to do that for fear of not being able to put it back on. I wouldn't want to be stuck parking outside without a top!

Ouch!
The 2 bolts that secure the top to the REAR of the top are held in by 2 other bolts,(2 per side) in a metal housing that can be acesssed by carefully moving the plastic trim out of the way.
NOT an easy job.Well it is,just kinda frustrating
And then when you get the housings out,the bolts that secure the top to the body are held in by clips.
Might just need to find a top with the bolt/housing thingys in good shape,or just wait and find a good replacement top altogether

Great! Thanks for the info! I think I'll tackle this one in a few weeks once I get in some weatherstripping I ordered. The weatherstripping that's on there now is crummy and leaks. Right now, I'm using electrical tape all around until I can finish the job (talk about ghetto!).
