I'm not certified, I didn't take a class, but, I have what counts, 8 years of EXPERIANCE. If you have buddy who is certified, he will be a great help.

hey guys not sure if this is the right place to post this but..im starting out 2 weld and i have a 90 amp wire feel welder....mig.....i been looking around to find a school to learn about welding and to get certified but there is nothign around here...well i was just wonder would i be able 2 tack weld quarter panels or patch panels?...thasks for any input

To weld thin metal use the thinnest wire available on the lowest setting, or you will burn right thru. I'm using flux core, and it is nearly impossible, as the wire is too thick and carries too much heat to the panel.

Your welder will work but a wire feed with shielding gas would be best. Make your you do about inch beads at a time and give each one a minute or so to cool down you don't want to warp the metal that would suck. Set the voltage low and the wire feed slow as you want to weld slow to get good penetration. Make sure you get the whole seam welded you don't want leakage. Then grind the weld down and do the body work if that's what your doing?

i welded the iner wheel well of a 98 bmw 325I and it took me a while to get the welder adjusted because in the beginning i was just blowing wholes thru the wheel well but once i got it adjusted it was quite easy

Good Luck, Azem
