I am new to the forums, new to toyotas in general. I have owned and worked on other makes and models, but decided atleast a toyota engine would be useful. Currently I have a s14 SR'd 240sx with around 350whp, but wanted more so I bought a 1jz-gte swap with a SS single manifold with turbonetics t-66 dual wastegated for maximum boost control (creep protection), 1000cc injectors, custom fuel rail, surge tank intake manifold ,TRD 3 puck clutch set-up, Haltech H6X stand alone, DIS-4 ignition, all the usual Jazz. I will be going with the TECH2 swap kit so it should go pretty easily.

BTW if anyone has an r-154 soarer shifter assembly it would be much appreciated, I have the soarer tranny, but no assembly asside from the mount plate with the rod hanging out :-(

Welcome to Supramania, and good luck with your swap. Sounds like you've got a great engine to work with.

excellent point, I have just started the tear down of it all, I am going to replace the valve stem seals while I have the head off. If I have time tomorrow I will take pics of a little of this and that. I painted the prepped and painted the block, valve covers, lower intake, and throttle body today.

So let me get this straight you are putting the 1jz into the 240? Ive seen something similar to this done before it was freakin sick! It was a s14 with a 2jz turbo engine with a GT42R. I was like whoa!

Yeah there is a small following of it, and hopefully it stays small, everybody and their mom has an SR. I just want a reliable 500-600whp, so I said to myself hmm ls1; kool, but lacking in the turbo fun fun; researched around some and saw 1j/2j kits and said HELL YES!!! read about the 1J and how it is a little more rev friendly, my friend just happened to have a build up of parts, motor, all that jazz; so I said hey I gotsa some cash, and he said U gotsa a SWAP! Now I just have to order the $1200 swap kit to make it go in easily.

My car currently:

s14 2510lbs. w/driver (230lbs)

autronic smc and 500r computers
sr20det s13 blacktop
built head+hks 264 cams
cometic .7mm headgasket
FP Big28
custom Fuel rail+ 740cc
vortech FPR
greddy intake port matched to head
Spec D clutch flywheel setup
greddy R spec intercooler
not to mention all of rest of the car :-(

spec clutches on my cobra/mustangs were great I was breaking trannies and input shafts long before the clutch ever gave. This is the 2nd spec clutch I have had on the sr, the first was just a stage 2.5 and held well, but started slipping when I would launch it on slicks, but it had around 25-30k miles on it. So overall they are great! The cobras and mustangs ranged from 300whp-700whp

Friends of mine own a shop here in Florida that have a 1j'd s13 notch (that bitch is crazy). Let me know if there is anything I or they can help you with. The shops name is CARisma LLC.

Btw I couldn't help but notice your photobucket name, do you have a Bullitt as well? The reason I ask is cause my father just got his '08 and has had the '01. If so are you on IMBOC?

Yes I have a 2001 Mustang GT BULLITT edition it is true blue clear coat #04839
has less than 10,000 miles on it, it sits in one of the garages at my parents house. Lol I have way to many cars, it is one of 5. I believe I spoke with your friends down in florida, they do the bracket attachment to the block then it is a drop in ordeal. They are proud of their shit price wise, personally I feel that the k-member mod and better motor mounts are the way to go; that is why I am going with tech2; if your friends would wanna work out a deal on the matter though I would possibly be interested in being a representative for their shop. I know tech 2 guarantees their stuff to 800hp among other warranties they also carry with their items. They are pricey also, but I feel that the warranty and quality of their items will justify they cost more.
