Thanks to turbo4toy for the pods and door panels for a damn good price!

I finally broke down and bought speaker pods and door panels from a 91. I built some fiberglass pods a while back but they were ugly and didn't really make me happy. Also, the small openings in the stock doors didn't really let the full sound out...

I also picked up some really really nice pioneer speakers at work for an absolutely unbelievable price. I was amazed that these huge speakers fit in these pods I've head had such shallow mounting depth... they fit great... no mods needed at all.

I bet the factory system sounded pretty damned good for being a 91!!

(A side note! Are these door panels the 'shadow grey' color? They're alot darker than my normal grey interior )

Shadow grey inserts are darker than that grey. Those look more like the 91s interior. But I thibk these were also labelled as Shadow grey

I can't wait to get 'em installed... I have two remote starts to do tomorrow so I'm hoping I can squeeze a little of my own work in

I'll be throwing 75 watts to 'em so I'm anticipating they're going to scream!

Shadow grey inserts are darker than that grey. Those look more like the 91s interior. But I thibk these were also labelled as Shadow grey

Well they're defiantly darker than mine... I thought there was just grey, and shadow grey?

Yep, those are shadow grey door panels. That's the grey for 91 & 92 models.
I had an '88 and now a '91....will be a slight mismatch.... Not like having blue door panels..

I have always wondered about quality of those, couse i've never used them Stereo = unnessecery weight Stock audio system consists of 4 speakers right?

86-88 = 4 speakers
89-90 = 6 speakers
91-92 = 6 or 10 from what i've read, not 100%

mine is '90, but I only know two in the doors and two above rear struts, thats it. Where to look for other two?

i have 6 in mine..i have an 89..the last 2 are on the shoulders of the rear passengers

I have a 91 and I only know of 4. 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear

I know for sure of 8 in my 91

2 Mains in the doors
2 Small (.5"?) component tweeters right next to them
2 front facing rear speakers (pass shoulders)
2 rear facing rear speakers (why do they have speakers pointed at the hatch?)

There may be another set of tweeters or something in one of the other pods, I've only pulled the front covers.
