I want to thank you in advanced because I'll be seeking information and advice from all of you in the near future. So, "Thank You."

I'm new to Supras and, in general, to the "Supra World." I found out about Supras about 10 years ago but never got the chance to look into them...had school, work, etc... Now I want to devote to learning more and owning one of these machines. (I don't yet have one but will be looking for one.)

Thanks!:icon_bigg

To be honest, I don't know. I want something right away so that I can "begin." However, there are a couple of factors I am looking at such as amount of money required, insurance, etc. Maybe I'm holding myself back too much... Also, since I'm just starting, I really don't know a whole lot about the Supra or cars in general. Where is a good starting point? I thought about just picking up a book or two. Or, should I just jump right in and learn as I go?

i researched for a little bit on this website before i bought mine...found out key things about the car such as the headgasket problem, how much they are cost wise for when i buy one so i dont get ripped, got a general idea as to what it costs to mod and stuff like that, exactly how rare the parts are to find......this website is def. a great source of information and the people seem to be pretty helpful and full of knowledge....welcome to the site

ps. you will get addicted to this site just as i have lol...im on here everyday a few hours at a time lol

Thanks for the info. I am researching now and trying to refrain from getting a car too soon so that I don't dig myself a hole like not knowing what to do with the car when I get it. (I do want a Supra now though...guess, I want a change...I'm dring a Celica now.) Guess I'm trying to figure out what's good for a beginner.

P.S. I think I'm addicted to the site already... There is a vast amount of info and knowlege here...

If I had it to do over again, I wouldve bought a turbo supra from the beginning and rebuilt it from the "beginning". I bought a NA and put a jdm 7mgte (without rebuilding). Now that it has been built I am a happy owner of a rebuilt turbo supra.

Welcome to the site and good luck on owning your first supra.

I am happy I bought a turbo supra. Although I kinda wish it was a hard top. I go back and forth on that issue. Definitely pick up a TSRM from the dealer for whatever year you pick up. There is also an online version at cygnusx1.net. Learn how to check for codes, read the stickies, ask smart questions, check out the porn posted in DT's vip room, :naughty: and have fun!

What were your thoughts when you bought the NA?...Did you decide to pick it up then wanted to turn it turbo later?

Welcome to the site! I would recommend getting the turbo right off the bat too. Just about everyone I have talked to has a turbo, or wants to get one, or has already made the swap. I bought my two supra's a month or so ago. Hold out for the good deal. Maybe you can find one that has alot of mods done already like I did. Good Luck!
