just buy a turbo to start..

these things are what you need to look out for on the mk3 7mge-gte supra's

-Blown headgaskets
-Rod Knock
-R154 (turbo tranny) tends to be hard to get into reverse sometimes.
-Turbo shaft play
-Turbo seals (does it smoke??)
-Leaking or seeping valve cover gaskets (easy to replace, and cheap)

I'm sure some other members will budge in and add a few things.. good luck on your quest for a supra.

thankx for the help lol i bet having a turbo will be mre fun. the reson y i wantd to go N/A someone told it would be easier and less potential for problems. I read its hard to find headers that give max HP is that also for turbo manifolds?

Hey man its good to see you found the forum. Like I was telling you at work I would just go with a N/A since you don't have alot of cash to burn and you are still learning about cars in general. The N/A will still be fun to drive especially compared to your v6 mstang!! If you have any question or need any help you know where I am at

even the W58 can be hard to get into reverse... its a habit in any manual car i drive i go into 2nd or 4th before i go into reverse... and its works everytime. and if it doesnt, i just put it into 1st and let the clutch slip a little to get everything to move inside.

on an N/A, the potential for fun is the same as a turbo car, it just drains your wallet less. because there basically the same car, the turbo and n/a. they both need serious attention to the stock suspension, cause it just flat out sucks.

plus its nice to "learn" the supra on an n/a.... plus its not quite as picky as a turbo car. boost leaks causing fuel cut, old couplers, worn out vacuum lines, clogged lines...

just find a nice looking car... but for 850, i dont think you'll like what you will end up with.
