Hey everyone. I just got validated so guess I should start by introducing myself. My name is Chase and I live in Louisville, Ky. I am in the process of buying an extremely clean 1988 Supra from a friends dad. He bought it brand new and its been his weekend car ever since, but it has been replaced by a Porsche 911. It has just under 55k original miles and its in great shape. The not so great part is that it has a 7M-GE and an auto transmission. My plan is to work on getting everything just how I want it and then do an engine swap. Hopefully a 2J but only time will tell. I've had a few "toys" but I'm new to the Supra world and I'm just looking to learn and hopefully hook up with some people in my area who can teach and help me.

Welcome Chase,
sounds like you found a sweet Supra, regardless of it being N/A. It's getting harder to find these things unmolested. Post some pics up as soon as you get it!

There are a good number of members in and around Louisville (cincy, indy, lex) which makes for some great meets to look forward to. Anyway, enjoy the community, and if you search, you should be able to find anything you might wanna know.

What kind of toys are you "getting out of"?

I'm excited that there is a nice group around. I'm not plugged into the Supra scene at all.

I started a serious 97 240SX project a couple years ago only to have some lady pull out in front of my wife on Dixie Highway. It was totaled after I had a few grand in it and was only able to salvage the stereo system. I just sold my 2002 Camaro SS project. I've also done several GM trucks, a 98 Blazer, 04 Silverado, 05 Sierra, and another 07 Silverado. Trucks clearly don't hold my interest very long. I also have a buddy with a 94 R/T Viper that I help tinker with some.

I vote for a 2jz, with a built automatic and some minor upgrades (US spec twins, cams and injectors, walbro, 3+" turbos back, an afc, boost cut controller and a front mount intercooler).
