Ok, so I just bought a 1987 Targa Turbo 5 speed. There is 217,000 miles on the car. The guy said he just replaced all the gaskets. Should I do anything else (engine wise) to the car before I start putting aftermarket parts on it? Like, should I have the block rebuilt or anything? There are no leaks or funny sounds but I don't want start building it and then the car falls through. Help me out here

I plan on building it to somewhere between 400-500 horsepower. I want it to be my daily driver but still really ballzy!

that is a lot of miles. i'm w/supra kid...rebuild. the guy said he replaced gaskets....but did he do the hg? u will need a mhg and arp head studs and it would be a good idea to do a full rebuild especially at that mileage and considering ur hp goals, age of vehicle, etc (wear and tear over the yrs). good luck

you might want to properly advertise your car so people don't think your tryin to jerk them around

i would reccommend you do a compression test, and a basic tune up. change all fluids, spark plugs, spark plug wires etc.
