What do you guys think of these turbos for a 1jz on stock fuel stock boost, and what numbers could i expect when i buy some injectors and new ecu??

1 is a $700 Garrett T04R T67 3"comp. inlet/2.25" outlet, p trim, Turbine housing A/R .68 or .70 T4 turbine inlet, and a 1 year warranty.

2 would be a $550 Garrett 60-1, 60 trim, .70 A/R compressor T04 turbine stage in tangential turbine hsg. now i sent the guys an email asking for specs on the turbo and he said this....." I have 4 units of 60-1 in stock. P, trim, O trim T04 and 76 trim TA34" that also has 1 year warranty. I dont really understand what that all means maybe someone can translate it for me.....

the turbos are good turbos but what are your hp goals? and your gonna need all the supporting mods for the turbos to be efficent. for example bigger injectors, intercooler and the piping, manifold and exhaust system, and something for tunning like a afc or emanage.

I would not run either of those turbos on a stock fuel setup, and I would not run only a stock ecu (piggyback is fine). 370cc injectors = 350whp safely, 440cc injectors = 400whp safely, 550cc injectors = 500whp safely. Anything over 440cc injectors I would not trust with a stock FPR and anything over stock injectors I would not trust with a stock fuel pump.

I understand that, i would like to make 500hp in the end. I dont have the money for injectors, FPR, ECU, exc. right now, I can only afford manifold, downpipe, turbo, intake, & oil lines.

I guess my questions are, will these boost 8-10psi for now and what wastegate should i use?

What kind of power will i be able to make with these turbos when I get bigger injectors, exc (turbos max boost)?

I am up to suggestions...

Thanks

Greg

its hard to say what these turbos will boost because that depends on your wastegate you are going to use. the wastegate you get will have a spring in it that will determine the lowest boost you can run. so if you get a wastegate with a spring that will allow for 8 psi as the lowest boost setting then thats what they will boost until you get a boost controller. with the 61 mm turbo i'm guessing you could make around 550hp and with the 67 you could make 650hp depending on your supporting mods but i wouldn't take these turbos any more than 30 psi but that depends on your supporting mods. i would probably keep them around 25 psi. as for what wastegates you could use, i would go look at the driftmotion wastegates and their turbo kits. they have some good prices for complete kits. i'm running the driftmotion knoock off 50mm hks wastegate and its given me no problems around 22 psi. you didn't mention anything about a intercooler or intercooler piping, what are you gonna do about that?

I would say that 8psi out of the t61 would be fine on stock fuel, and 6psi for the 67. You are better off doing everything at once, and keeping the stock twins on there.

I agree when you have the money to do the fuel and supporting mods then upgrade the turbo. What is the point of running a decent size turbo if you are not even running it efficiently?

I have other cars to drive if i cant drive this one but i think it will be fine. I have a boost controller, and i was thinking about a 40mm HKS WG.

its possible to run those turbos with the stock stuff its just that you won't be using the power of the turbo to its max potential. did you go check out the driftmotion turbo kits?

why don't to do it the other way around get the fuel mods, engine management, hard IC pipe, and FMIC done. Then you can use the engine management on the stock twins for the time being to make more power, then latter you can bolt on the bigger turbo and be good to go. (after a tune that is)

Just makes more scents to me

^^^ like everyone else said, the 60-1 is even pushing it a bit for stock everything. At the very least get some 440 cc injectors and a SAFC. A journal bearing 67 mm is quite laggy on a 1jz, full boost at 4500+ rpms, but when it hits it pulls hard.

I'll take the injectors if jdc5ind has not already spoken for them.
If he has, anyone else can pm me if they have a set they would like to sell.
