New proprieters of 7mpower.com = Failures

I would rather see 7mpower.com get some more dedicated/able operators then have a new site made. I'd also rather keep it 7M focused, but I'm not entirely opposed to a new site or JZ inclusion.

On a side note, a 2JZ powered MKIII would be eligible for to4r.com if it met the power requirements. Are there any out there that could do it? (Edit: How much power could Urbano's car make? If it's current owners were interested, it would make a fitting first MK3 on to4r I think)

there should be stages if we make our own. the 500+ group the 4-500 group and the 3-400 group to show how they got between each stage and for people with different power goals to have something more specific to look at. very interested to see something like this put together because yes 7mpower is an awsome site. it'd also add to sm's value and technical aid too.

You are all thinking too small. We need to celebrate ALL things MkIII here. Sure... 500hp is great and all... but what about the guy that puts together a very clean MkIII that represents the community well but only makes 300hp? Is the 500hp MkIII that is all ratted out better than the 300hp well rounded MkIII?

Anything specific (7M, 1J, etc) is too narrow of a focus. What do we ALL have in common? "A70". That is why we should do something like that. I just registered A70.org - since this should be an organization not a company. Who wants to help build a place for ALL MkIIIs to be showcased no matter what engine or power level?

Having a place for all Mkiii's to be showcased is great! That's what supramania.com is for.

There has to be limits on the site Jeff has in mind; otherwise, it will just turn into another cardomain where every ricer in the world can post up their trashy Mkiii. 7mpower was for elite Mkiii's. The next site should follow the same guidelines, IMHO.

EDIT: A few posts back, I also agreed that the 1j/2j swapped guys should be showcased as well. Since the new site will probably be linked off supramania, it wouldn't be fair not to include the 1j/2j swapped cars as sm is home to all. They should also have their own sections, and we should also have a "others" section, like Jeff suggested, for soapra conversions, 1uz's, and so on, but it must be done to a Mkiii, and there still needs to be entrance requirements. The "others" section would be exempt from power level requirements, but will be affected by other rules.

I'll leave it in Jeff's hands to decide what's best for a new MKIII elite site. He seems to be heading in the right direction.

None of your fucking business
If there is going to be a Soapra catergory then we cannot leave out a lamarossa catergory. But Seriously, 7m, 1j and 2j all in their own section just like 7mpower. As for body mods, there should be no special section for a conversion imo. What is there like 1 or 2 of em? It should be based on power and presentation. Power level should be set at (minimum) 400+whp, otherwise everyone with a boost controller is on there... 7mp was for the elite and so should SMpower.org.

kwnate, you did not read the posts correctly. The special section was for any unique car, such as the Soapra, not a Soapra section.

The site would exist to showcase premier MK3's, whether it be high horsepower with a 7M, or JZ, or some other way that makes the car different or better than the average MK3.

It would be a site that you can go, "hey check these out" to someone when they say MK3's suck, or to check out what people are accomplishing with their MK3, not for every Supra owner and his buddy to post up his 160k mile stock rusty MK3.

Both are fine, but neither worthy of an elite site IMHO. 300rwhp is far too low a goal, but I do think well-rounded 400rwhp cars should be included (Supranick's for example --excellent body, interior, suspension, brakes, and solid power). And a rough-looking drag-only car making 600 or 700rwhp is also exceptional enough to warrant being included.

Just my $0.02

But I think we'll need to beat him into making it for us! ;)

Great idea Dave, Jeff has been talking about this main site for so long now. I would really like to actually see something happen and there be a main site again.

Jeff, let the flogging commence, lol...

Look, Im sure Jeff will do a fine job designing this page for the community... If Jeff needs my input on the site design, Im sure he'll ask me... Same with Grim...

We have SM, we have SF, we have THE supra forums, we have enough sites dedicated to normal everyday Supras... We have ONE site for elite MKIIIs, and that site isnt taking care of us... So, I totally support a new elite site for us... I think there should be levels, like classes... 400-500hp, 500-600hp, 600-700hp and 700+... I prefer the 7M power plant, however, I dont wanna neglect my 1JZ brothers... But, I do think the 2JZ swaps should be in the "other" section... If it didnt ever come from toyota with that motor, then it should be in the "other", and I dont think Toyota ever made an MKIII with a 2JZ...

I'm with the idea that A70 is a better idea, let's base it on the Chassis, and then break it down into 7MGE, 7MGTE, 1JZGTE etc.

NA "price" of admision is either very high dyno numbers, or exceptionally clean car.

Turbo "price" of admission is again very high dyno numbers, or exceptionally clean car.

There are few that have both, and many that have one attribute, but all of them that are interested and make the grade should featured.

One other thing/idea that I really liked is that the moderator/administrator, and the OWNER of the car can make changes to the photos, write up and so forth. This makes editing new changes, or updated photos and acomplishments so much faster. (And less work for the Mods/Admins etc.)

My 7MPower page is very old. Heck I did not have my brakes yet, new rims, and I was still on the orginal engine. Things have changed quite a bit, my tourqe numbers are 100+ better than they were, I'm on the 4th engine, and about to change over to a new exhaust manifold and turbo setup that should open up this 3.24L stroker motor this spring I hope.

I vote for the A70.org idea, as a link off SM, and modderated and administered by the same.
