New phone options... Rizr or A1200...or

So I dropped my phone in the toilet.... yeah, my nokia.. I love that phone but now its time to get a new one I think.. so these are the 4 options Im looking at....

Samsung 710i
-Not much info

-$230 shipped

Samsung Z610i
-Not much info

-$250 shipped

Moto A1200

- Good reviews, only con I see is its hard to text with, and Im a huge texter. Screen is covered.

-$190 shipped

Moto Rizr Z3

-Looks great, texting works fine.... only drawback I found was once I get it I have to SeemEdit (hack) the phone to make it display the time on the home screen. Screen is exposed.. could scratch easily.

What you think guys? I loved my nokia but cant find another Nokia I like and as long as Im on the market I might as well upgrade, I need something with 2mp camera n good video playback.

I've never been a fan of samsung GUI's... they're good phones, but i jus tdon't like using them. I've had 2 samsungs, 3 nokias, 3 motorolas, and moto's are by far my favorite. I wouldn't go with the a1200, i haven't heard anything particularly poor about it, but i dunno, i just don't like it. I'm seriously contemplating selling my slvr and getting the rizr, or maybe the l9 slvr.


But yea, if it were me, I'd definitely go with a motorola


edit: just noticed you posted links to Sony Ericson phones, not samsung. I've used a friend's before, it was a good phone, but i didn' tlike the button feel. They're also a bit heavy and conservative, but are packed full of features

I never liked samungs either. Sony Ericcsons are ok on interface, VERY fast, I like a little heavy sometimes, something too light gets to me. I had a razr, and V551 and other motos, biggest issue was camers SUCKED on them. I love my nokia, to death, next bst thing Ive had to my LG phones. Fast, awesome, button push open, camera and video are amazingly nice. Im only getting somethign that has nice vd and 2mp cam or more.

I ahve til weds to decide. that is, IF THis phone is broken.

dude so far thats my Nokia, 6133 I think is what it is.. .either way I have cracked the front screen a little, dropped it alot, all this shit. If tomorrow morning it turns on, Ill never get another brand again.

this gurl i had in my economics class for 1st period has a Moto Rizr Z3 phone & i use it all the time to txt my friends becuz im cellphone-less & its an awesome phone. it txts great & it looks very nice too. she has a clear case she bought for it so she never stratches it. i'd recommend that phone.

I've heard many things about good survivability of Nokia phones, but I also have to say that my three Moto phones have been excellent. My wife and I both have RAZR phones now, and they have survived drops with only a power-off to show for each time, and we've had them since November '05 [right before the FIRST time they went on sale - I can't tell you how PISSED I am to see how cheap they are now!]. Oh well - the only gripes I have about the phones are camera quality, ability to get dust behind the screen, and that sometimes when the phone is connecting or re-adjusting/updating or whatever it does, if it is too close to an electrical appliance with a speaker, it causes the speaker to make weird blip and buzzing noises.

That noise is ur network type, not the phone, cingular and now recently, Tmobile do it.

my razr was amazing too, it took falls all the time ,but once I accidently got ONE DROP of soda on the screen, it got under it and phone was dead for 3 days
the day my replacement came, it worked again haha...


well see what happens Im down to A1200 or Rizr, Rizr is $100 cheaper and I want Prosport gauges right now.... LOL

Right now I have a Sanyo Katana, and it's actually a great phone, although it's a little fragile...

I would go with either the Sony Ericcson Z610i, Or the Moto Rizr Z3. Both look like good phones.

I think its gonna be the Rizr for me, since I want those Prosport gauges too and have about $350 to spend. My gauges are only gonna run me $120

If you want a good camera in your phone, get a Sony Ericsson K790. Has a 3.2mp camera with a mechanical autofocus, and xenon flash. I have one with a 1gig card, and it's an awesome phone.

I love motorola though. Everything but the RAZR rocked.

I would get that phone but there are 2 issues keeping me from it....

The keys are in that same ol SE style, little and hard to text with

The price is too high for what I want to pay right now..


Dont get me wrong that looks like an AMAZING phone and I found a site showing pics taken with it, AMAZING as well.. the price is the worst part though for me.

I wasnt. Our counter is next to the toilet and it was on it. I had just gotten off the phone b4 I sat down. I get up, wash my hands, go for towel... Plop...

I have a Rizr and its pimp. Though I have dropped it once and got a lil scratch on the screen... Texting is easy.. I love the My fav's and it takes great pictures. 2 mega pixel with zoom and a BRIGHT ass LED for dark time pictures. very slim and it only cost me $100 with a plan.

Hey, had a question for ya, can I use the LED flash as a flashlight if needed?

Also, is the firmware menus updated at all from lets say a razr? How fast are the menus and is video 30fps? or close? I hate choppy video

With my old moto, I would just enable the flash, and it would stay on, so I could use it as a flashlight.
