I have been lurking on this site for a while trying to gather information before i decided to make a purchase on a MK3, but I recently saved an 87 turbo that was on its way to a scrap yard. It needs a ton of work, but I couldn't let another one die in a scrap yard. The rebuild/restore will be a slow process since I work full time and go to college full time so it will be a while before i post up a build thread. I will get some pictures of it tomorrow and post them up.
