I'm about to get a new muffler for my MKIII (88 Turbo). I have been looking around for a ship, nice looking and trustable one. So, right now I'm between the Borla XR-1 Oval 40944 3" (16" x 4 1/2" x 7 7/8"), Borla XR-1 Roud 40085 (3" 3" 15") or the Magnaflow Stainless Steel 14819. Wish one you guys think is the best option?? Suggestion are welcome too. Amout available is 250.

Well if u like both u should flip a coin. best 4 out 6 that should work.

Tho I dont have an mk3 I have a turbo mk2 and have a Divorced downpipe (3") connected to a 3" summit glasspack, then 3" piping all the way back to a 3" summit turbo muffler...

muffle was $21 glasspack was $19 and the setup sounds amazing.
quieter than when I was NA, but still sounds mean, and lets the sound of the turbo spooling be well heard.

IMO id get the Borla XR-1, it was the muffler i was going to get orginally but a deal came across and I couldnt let it go. Ive always wanted to know how that Borla XR-1 would sound on a 7M.

i have a trust sp1 sounds the best out of any exhaust to me but that is just me i would just spend the money on a nice bolt on exhaust unless you have a shop you can get mandrel bends at otherwise you will spend a whole lot more money than than you should have to

I found a nice looking one, but cost around $320. 2 expensive for me right now.....

No kidding, Im still trying to decide if I want a Borla XR-1... Ilm running a bic 3" ddp --> 3" resonator --> (apexi or borla muffler)
Has anyone found or have a clip of the exhaust note with the borla?
