Hi all,

I've been spending countless hours on the forum reading and reading and reading. I thought it was time to introduce myself and tell a little about my car. I bought an 89 turbo a few months back. Haven't been able to drive it yet. The guy I bough it from said it would start, but would blow white smoke out the tailpipe. I didn't want to risk driving it and doing more damage. So I had the car trailered to my house and went to work. Surprise! BHG. Pulled the engine and took it to the machinist. Car will basicly be stock when I get it back, other than a few goodies (Koyo radiator, new intercooler and pipes and all new A/C, etc. Its been quite an odessy so far, but what I have learned on this forum has gone a long way in helping me get it back together and making sure things are done right. So thanks to all of you.

Jon

Welcome! you did the right thing trailering it home. You haven't really owned a MK3 if you haven't done a head gasket. Good Luck. Be sure to go metal hg with the ARP's.

Hey, welcome to the forums. I'm a MKIII owner from Riverview, a little SE of Tampa. Had a '90 7M-GTE with a bungload of mods and plenty of BHG's back in the day. Was without a Supra for 8 years, and just picked up a '92 with a 1JZ-GTE swap back in January. I am no expert, but if you need a hand locally, I am absolutely willing to come help tear stuff apart. Or put it together, although I am better at "apart." LOL

Thanks! I may take you up on that. I should be getting my engine back any time now. Gotta tear the dash out to replace the heater core and expansion valve, install radio, disable alarm, etc. probably happen in a week or two. I'll buy the beer!

I'll be happy to bring what tools I have & lend a hand. Never have torn the whole dash out, but I have removed the glove box, most of the center section, and lower portion of the dash at one point or another. Oh yeah... most of the lower portion is in the passenger's seat right now. Gotta put that back together this weekend. LOL
