Yah you can't clean them with parts cleaner or anthing like that, it ruins them:( Nice looking rig, I'm sure you can find a used one in the FS section to toss on it. Do you have any codes?

Doh missed that CEL section. What code exactly are you getting?

yeah i realize that now! lol but the weird thing is that i did buy an AFM from a guy on this forum, tryed it and i still have the same problem (code 31 and 32) it runs horrible and keeps dying. i cant even drive it because there is absolutely no power. I have tested both AFM's with the ohmmeter and they both test exactly the same. I believe they are good according to the ohm readings. so either i am testing it wrong and i have two bad AFM's or my problem is elsewhere.

Welcome! Great ride, I love those old 4runners. Been thinking about trying to get one for my winter ride so I can garage the Supra through the winters.

Relating to the 7M, I stand by this site as possibly the single BEST resource if you can ask a "smart" question. A bunch of the old guys here are a wealth of knowledge and will gladly help out. There are plenty of dumb people and dumb answers, but listen to the wise ones. ;)

This is a great place and a great community. :)

I heard that shaeff bans people for not posting pics of the engine bay! ;)

That's a great looking rig!

you need a new 7mge? i thought you were going to rebuild the one you already have?

it would cost more to rebuild the bottom end, buy a 7mge head and try and replace the top end stuff i dont have... then to buy a new one/imported one.

ah i see. hopefully you can find a good deal on a complete engine!

I should be able to.

I am looking at around $800 for an Imported 7MGE with all the accessories and whatnot with around 40k miles.

Then i gotta pull the head, replace the head gasket, install ARP studs and torque down to 74ft-lbs i think it is.

I will give it a tune up and what not.
I am looking to have around 1200 into the engine.

reason being as to why i dont rebuild the one i have and get a new head?

well im not only missing the cylinder head, but several top end parts.
So to rebuild it and find the parts ill need... i will be paying A LOT more.

anyways, sorry to thread jack ya Caleb.

Now I hope you can figure out your 7MGTE soon.
