No the Green condoms on the oem bulbs give it the green color. White leds were to bright and distracting. I know what you did, I have done it. Sorry if I spoiled your secret.

How it looks is a matter of opinion. As an engineer and pilot I'll state a matter of fact: white is the worst color possible for preserving night vision. Like the idiots who install HID kits you've chosen to ignore science and engineering in order to go backwards, all in the name of ignorance or wanting to impress others. Smart move Ace...

I think I know what you are using but without sharing I don't see the point of the post...unless you were looking to hear opinions. Not everyone is going to give you a pat on the back....

IMO, I also don't care for white. It does look good but it is awfully straining on my eyes at night, even when it's dimmed.

Congrats on doing something new.

For this car I think green was the best color.. they designed the supra drivers area as "cockpit," this even way more evident in the mk4. that, and every aircraft I've been in has had green gauges and I think its always added a sense of the latter. to try and make an older car into a newer one borders on nonsense in my book. doing it cause you just love white is a different issue, but thats not the vibe I got.

My favorite overall remains orange though, from the R34 cluster I saw years and years ago when they came out in '99.

At least you did something productive though, good for you.

No hate. Just my opinion and education at play. I'm finished as there's no getting around the ignorance displayed by the "I'm not distracted by white" comment. Nor can the logic in post 26 (or your post for that matter) be defeated. I'm beaten ;)

looks great eric ! if they are bright enough you can totally smoke the gauge covers and make it look like lexus gauges. I love how the GS300 gauges look! keep up the great work !! :biglaugh:

I personally ok with the white LEDS, i have blue ones as i said already. I can't justify by saying that white is distractive because i have never used white before. Can't hate them until I use them.

My cluster is all red LED's. They're great, and the dimmer functions exactly as it should. :) And I have no hot spots.

Personally, I find the white to be less blinding than blue gauges. I don't know how people drive around with those things at night, they hurt my eyes sitting next to them at a stop light. I'm sticking with the stock gauge lights. I find they are bright enough to tell me what the gauges say without detracting from my forward view. Also, as jetjock stated, green is better for your night vision. Some people are willing to put style before safety but not me.

All the lights on my interior have been converted to red as well. SOOO easy to drive at night, never exhausting on my eyes (even 5+ hour drives). But not faded and as "dated" looking as the original green.

Yep, like I said, there is a reason they are usually green/red.

Blue is HORRIBLE to look at, as it's hard to focus on (why I hate my cell phone at night). Red is great for keeping your night vision, but will induce strain. Green is the best.

It's all fine and dandy, do what you want, but don't bitch later...

red and green are the best, but I myself have blue LED's in the cluster, keyring and foot lighting...

on a side note, red reminds me of the Nintendo VirtuaBoy....:D
