Im new to this site, im also on supraforums but didnt really recieve much help there. Anyways I have 86.5 n/a 5spd. I bought the car with a blown head gasket. ive since had the head checked shaved and reassembled the engine with new gaskets, plugs and wires. my problem is I have not been able to get it to run. the timing is correct. i can only get it to start if i hold wot, and after about 30sec- 1 min of hard cranking the engine stumbles over and will run at about 650rpm at wot. Does anybody have any suggestions. Im gonna put new ngk platinum plugs in this week to replace the bosch platinums i put in.

yea all sensor are hooked up and working right i checked for continuity, power, and ground at all of them. i thought for a while that the car was just running off cold start injector but the other day i checked fuel pressure (which is good) and had the car running at 3000rpm, but when it shut off i got the same problem. the car also sat for about a month before it ran at 3000. we had alot of snow and i couldnt get to my car.

LOL mine used to idle fine with no AFM plugged in!
(caught me a few times when I forgot to plug it in after working on it drove it on LPG ran out switched to Gas and all it would do was sit there an idle then die the second you touched the pedal.)
Well, it should start but shouldn't run after the key is released. Fuel pump switch in the AFM you know. OK...5 lashes
hmmmm the dodgy LPG fitter may have screwed with the wiring for the pump as LPG uses it's own safety switch to shut off LPG when there are 0 rpm and they use that box to switch modes. (never played with it when it was stock and just assumed that behaviour was the norm, 5 accepted)
Codes would be nice but it can't be the TPS. It could still be the AFM though. Or timing. I know he claims it's right but we've been down that road before...
I'd put money on timing before anything else.
