I have tried these ebay "projector" housings on a friends car (not a supra, but same H6054 housings)...

Gonna break it down here and be blunt...

1. The light output of the smoked housings SUCK
2. They are not REAL projectors, they just have a cheap circular magnifying glass within a smoked housing it almost seems like, not anywhere NEAR the same quality as a real projector lens.
3. There is no cutoff like a real projector lens has
4. They are EBAY, what can you expect? lol

I have had better luck using the regular Ebay "diamond cut" housings (with no projector in them) with decent quality bulbs, or even HIDs (blinding and scatter a lot in the ebay housings).
However, I am not a fan of any housings ebay has for sale, they are all cheaply made and you need to actually spend some money elsewhere to get a quality light output with a sharp cutoff line.

All that being said, If not doing a projector retrofit, and want an easy plug n play setup... I would recommend something called Hella E-Code housings I believe. In my experience, they are the best 5x7 conversion kit you can buy with the option to just swap out the bulbs within them.

What's all this eBay talk, there are no "eBay" projectors or housings. You can purchase the same cheap garbage at any local speed shop, and likewise you can purchase one of many high quality retrofit projectors on eBay. You get what you pay for so educate yourself before purchasing.

Hella H4 E-codes are the best bang for the buck if you want an easy install.

Until i see the output, I'm condemning these as dangerous POS's. Sorry.

I have yet to see any projector retrofit for under at least $250 that is even usable. I hope you prove me wrong. ;)

This is on my van and not the Supra, however I did these for under that price, replaced the factory 5x7 with my own custom setup.
Spaced bulb to give a nice blue/purple cutoff, shop glass makes the cut and step look fuzzy but it's actually quite perfect.
Of coarse this did require modifications, custom brackets, wiring, etc.

And would you do all that custom work and sell your complete product for under my price? If so then start making them because you'll have a huge buying market. My guess however is that you would value the complete amount of work and parts you put into it well over $250.

Am I wrong?

No offense, but you should have specified a PnP retrofit for under $250 then.
My point was only that it can easily be done with a bit of skill and knowledge. Lots of info on HIDPlanet.com
Hypothetically speaking though, I could sell a partial kit for that price. As in bracket/bezel/projector and you purchase your own bulbs/ballast.
