Miguel, I love black supras too, but who doesn't? I don't really know where they rate in my favorite colors though. I guess it depends on the car and who's thread I'm in. If I was in a black supra thread, I would tell him that I love them best............:biglaugh:

I'm sure he respects your opinion about his mouldings, but he'll soon lose that respect when he gets to know you better............;)

Haha thanks guys. I am not fussed on colour, but I don't mind the silver. It doesn't look half bad, and isn't too much work to maintain. Black wins though. :)

I have been trying to accomplish something each day - even if it is only little.

I cracked the craps with paint today so did something else to re-kindle the love.

My battery tie-down was hideous. Not sure if this thing is factory, but it is definately ugly!

Cool car, great thread and great work.

Haha holy crap, thanks man. Your car is one of the hottest A70's I have seen, ever!. :aigo: The fact your did so much of it youself was quite inspiring. :)

Finially made it to the paint shop this afternoon, and picked up what seems to be a well built but cheap enough HVLP spray gun.

Also finishing what I started months ago with the seatbelt retainers. Countersunk the screw holes, and will paint them blue (to match trim) tomorrow.

I polished a few things as well, but they came up crap so I don't be showing those ;)

More updates! I was down a few days due to work and study, but back in business as of today :)

New badge ordered. Nothing drastic wrong with the old one, but it had a few stratches and was cheap enough to replace.

I got a paint gun stand for 9 bucks. It is actually really nice and sturdy.

Cleaned up my exhaust a little. It's not stupid shiny, but it's heaps cleaner than the picture shows

The seatbelt retainers are finially finished, just waiting on paint to dry. I tried gloss black and blue but they both didn't look right. Epoxy matt black seems to be the best option.

I am totally hating paint prep. Perhaps I'm just soft, but sanding that front bumper cover really sucked.

p782376_4.jpg

I hit some other parts with a fresh coat of paint while they were off the car. This is mainly for corrosion protection.

I ordered a set of 4300 Hi/Lo HID's, and they arrived early this morning. I don't have housings or any of the other crap needed to fit them yet - so will hold off on those for the time being.

Ok so I completely OD'd on caffine. It started with study, but my brain went to mush so I attacked the car :|

Tonight was a case of "I wish I hadn't noticed that, cause now I have to fix it"

It started with noticing the intercooler had only been mounted at the base. The upper attachment point hadn't been used at all.

Ten minutes with a hacksaw and some scrap Al angle sectiongot that sorted. :)

p784068_2.jpg

Then it happened. On Noes!! :( A cable tie. Yes, the only thing stopping these lines from dropping onto the road was a SINGLE CABLE TIE. Oh yeah and my power radiator pipe is leaking at the connector - yay.

p784068_3.jpg

This is probably the ugliest thing I have ever fabricated, but whatever. It's very secure and hidden from view in any case.

Coolant loss was tiny, and the connecter was really loose - so I have tightened it for the time being. I will keep a close eye on it.

I got some Bomex rear pod copies from Shine Auto Project and they are simply awesome. Shine was terrific to deal with (international postage etc.), and the fitment and quality is spot on. I will let the pictures do the talking :)

Thankyou :)

Another piece toward a finished puzzle today. Sprayed colour and clear, and they came out ok....ish. Actually I'm fairly relieved. The whole process was rather stressful as I had nobody to show me and have never painted before.

Some orange peel and contaminates... but passable.

I will be doing the bumpers tomorrow. I didn't want to do them first in case I screwed up!

It all looks great. Your car is looking great, and thanks for restoring another one.

Thankyou :) Reading your posts about painting the car yourself was a huge motivation to give it a shot. This is obviously nowhere in the same league, and far from a restoration - but things look a damn sight better than they did.

I will hopefully put the car back togethor tomorrow weather pending. Rain is forecast so I'm not holding my breath. :icon_evil
