HelloO! I'm pretty new to just cars in general. I was searching for any kind of car and my bf recommended me to get a supra. So I searched for it and i got myself a 1990 Supra Turbo :] i'm uber happy with my buy! but theres a lot of repairs to do... :aigo:

Edit:// I think I should do a more proper introduction of myself lol

I'm danica, 22 years old.
My boyfriend and I gave birth to a 1990 Toyota Supra Turbo w. T-top.
I guess I'm the useless father who buys the parts Nd my boyfriend is the mother who takes care of her. Lol
I work as a temporary (right now its full time so more money for my car yaaay).
planning on making my car more awesome in the near future. (which is why I came to supramania for advice Hehe)
I guess just ask if u have any questions.

hmmm lets see....
well the turbo was rebuilt (i think the previous owners didnt let it idle for a bit so they put in a turbo timer)
the interior is leather but its not in genuine condition the dash is cracked, sometimes the passenger window doesn't roll down (or even roll up =/)
the thing that needs work is my maf sensor went bad... we put in a new air filter and didnt know that this maf sensor cleaner messes up toyota supra turbos (out of all cars in the world) i bought a used sensor of this guy and now it has a rough idle (but it runs!!).

i just want to make it better...
my boyfriend suggested to get 550cc fuel injectors and use a lexus maf sensor (?)

thats the main issue so far...

also, the previous owners threw a muffler on there that doesnt fit the stock piping
so i'm just shopping around for a new muffler too.

the boyfriend drives a 2002 mustang GT
he suggested that i buy a supra because he used to own one and its one of his favorite cars.

i bought it because it ran well, had low miles, and was a damn good deal.

Don't do anything to this car for power. Get it running right. Also, was there ever a head bolt retorque? If not, or you are not sure, pull those valve covers and torque all of them to 75ft/lbs.

Any history know on the motor?

the motor blew a head gasket and the previous owners put a metal head gasket on there.
we changed the valve cover gaskets. currently has over 125000 miles on it

additional info... when i had bought the car

The turning signal was broken off.
the only way to turn the head lights on is if you tie the two wires together..
the two front tires were new... however, the left rear tire was completely
bald to the point where you could see the tread coming out of it o_O (and i had to drive 100 miles back home)
There was a point in time where i couldnt even shift it into 1st 2nd 3rd
and sometimes 4th gear would even grind (during the cold days)
there was no way i could put it in reverse :(

-but we fixed all that yaaay thank you new tranny oil and JB weld-

but sometimes when i put it in reverse the gears still (slightly) grind ;/
common problem?

Good luck with the car they can be a handful. I love the grey color. Also for fixing the passenger side window usually you just need to clean the contacts on the window switch. steel wool works good.
