Good stuff, IJ! Every optometrist (sp?) I've been to tells me that my left eye is non-correctable. I have never had a laser surgery consultation yet, so one day I'm going to find out what they say about it. I would probably start crying if I could fully use my left eye. I never have.

You bastard... :biglaugh:

edit: oh, and 12/20 is actually bad... I think. you're saying that what other people see at twelve feet, you only see it at twenty feet. i think you mean you have 20/12 vision. what other people only see at twenty feet, you see it better, like if the object was twelve feet in front of you. i think that's how it works.

I've been trying since I got mine done to get someone I know to have it done so I can go watch the procedure!

I cleared it with the Surgeon as I'm fascinated by the equipment they use!

There is a suction cup thing with like a little train track and the train has the blade to cut the flap!

They peel the flap back then hit the eye with the laser fold the flap back over and you're done!

I took the GF at the time with me and she got to watch it all!

Jeff: :)!
(I knew it wasn't just me that thought it was way cool)

Ken: LOL hey I'm a bit of a tech geek stuff like that intrigues me!

I always have very interesting discussions about the technical aspect of any surgery I'm having, you'd be surprised how much info the Surgeon will give you if you ask!

They seem to go into "Teacher Mode" Some of this stuff you DON'T really want to know ;) (Like how they get the bone chips for a spinal graft)

Have you seen an Apple Corer?

Picture a hollow tube with a serrated edge then make an incision in the lower back off centre.

Take your tube and push it into the incision across to the right hip until it's resting on the bone.

Then grab your HAMMER and hit the tube turn hit again and so on until you've smashed enough bone fragments off to do the job, slide the tube out with the fragments inside and close the incision with staples!

IJ, I sincerely hope that is not your old crack I see in that picture :biglaugh:

That's disgusting, lol. So, they just smash your bones up and leave them like that to heal. Awesome! If I have to go through anything like that, I better be so drugged up that I'm on the verge of death.
