Why are you saying your exhaust is superior because it has no resonator? Any exhaust setup I ever buy had better have a resonator, or I won't even consider it.... maybe it's just me. :dunno:

Agreed as it's usually resonant exactly at highway speeds and I defy anyone to put of with a droning exhaust for 3>4 hours non stop on a trip!
(No matter how hot it sounds around town) ;)

I don't think it sounds hot ever. Resonant frequencies in exhaust systems just bug me to death, I can't stand it.

Had an interesting conversation with my tuner last time I was at the dyno about those stupid big arse 5"+ cans on cars!

He was a saying it's really hard to get an accurate AF reading on them!

There are "loud" exhaust, and NICE loud exhausts....A buddy name Ceasar here in town has a C5 LS1 straight piping and some $1000 headers and such.....quite simply the LOUDEST and MOST BADASS exhaust i have ever heard!

Then there is the Twin turbo supra's with HKS Titanium racing exhaust...that is the most beutiful sounding exhaust system on the planet!

Well then the Mine's GTR with the Silent Ti exhaust....it just hums with the engine note....mmmmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm

You guys with that too pricey shit are GAY. $500 for that exhaust is a great price.
you have to PAY TO PLAY, go buy a POS crushbent 3" from any exhaust shop for $150 and see how long it will last, plus the fact that performance is gonna suck.

if your price range is not around $500 thats fine, thats understandable, maybe you should be looking for something used but of the same quality, but dont go calling Shit expensive when its not. fucking cheap ass mk3 owners piss me off

Exhausts for the MkIII don't eclipse $1000 - $700 is alot for an exhaust for "Us". I don't see any reason not to spend $500 on a good exhaust for your car, but if you can get a quality 3" SS mandrel bent for less, go for it. I paid over $600 for my 75mm HKS Turbo exhaust, and it's corroded and ruined, because it wasn't stainless.
..and as for cheap, our cars may have cost $27k when they were brand new, but you can get a good MkIII for $5000 now, where Mkiv owners paid quite a hefty fraction more, and these days will pay multiples.
$5000 is within the price range of many, even young'uns. $30,000 is not. Chances are that someone who buys a $5000 car doesn't have the money to put a $1000 exhaust on it, so if you are a Mkiv guy with a HKS Ti, you know what you can go do to yourself, or pay to have it done to you, since you are so loaded.

Yes, quality is the key, and in most cases it goes hand in hand with price. the HKS 75 is prone to rust, not a good QUALITY exhaust reguardless of the name. Remember we are not talking about manufacturers here but quality.

As far as the Price of the mk3, yes it is afordable to many but that is one of the main reasons the car and comunity has deteriorated. with the lower price it has brought in the garbage.

I'm still going to get the HKS exhaust (75mm dual tip) for my car, whether it's stainless or not, I love the sound, and it looks great.

I still have the stock catback on my car and it has no rust, so I'm not concerned about rust on the HKS.

Awesome. I'm telling you, Jeff.. aside from the corrosion, it served me well. Now I am going to have a need for more flow, so 75mm just won't be enough. If HKS made a dual-tip 95mm stainless exhaust just like the 75mm for our cars, I'd be all over it.
It must have been the salty humidity from Florida that ate away mine.

Im looking into getting my exhaust coated with something to help prevent rust. I have a crappy 3in custom made with mild steel piping.

You sound mean....but not as mean as my exhaust. :poon:

You dont have to "pay to play" that is the most gangster sounding remark i have ever heard......though i have built my car with some name brand parts...not all things need be name brand.

My exhaust still hasnt rusted after 1/2 year, and the OBX muffler is top par to my HKS Hiper ( universal canister as well) unit i had on my civic si back in the day! And the Megan DP i have is AWSOME....and my "crush bent" exhaust....well everyone that has seen it in person says its the least "crush bent" exhaust shop job they have ever seen...the guys took 2 hours measuring and bending the piping!
....heck, they have a 1400hp WS6 Trans Am drag car they built anyways..i would think they would take pride in all their work...and they did!

The key of going to an exhaust shop is that you need to find a reputable shop.....even if it means driving 1 hour away...its worth it. And for my $160 bucks...i am happy :icon_bigg
